Exactly... That might well be true but i’m prepared to give Hallett a pass for the moment and see what happens. Whatever your take on the rebuild, it’s imperative we stay in League Onento take full advantage of it - assuming it gets finished, of course. Avoiding relegation is all that matters right now. |

This may sound daft but ASB at RB puts him in is best position and Sawyer while no world beater is well steady at LB.
If we can get our CBs sorted we'll be fine. Cheers SFD. Smith-Brown played really well and is clearly growing in confidence. Does seem to be genuinely two-footed. |

| Stats don't always tell the full tale. Good win, we haven't won there since 2001?.

| Who here said their 2nd was a 35 yarder lol. Their player was 5 metres inside his own half Some slick movements there from Argyle for sure |

| Just looked at the highlights. Looks like both defences were very poor (do Southend CB's not understand the offside law?) As for conceding a goal from the other team's own half, you'd see better defending at Staddiscombe PF, the lad that scored isn't exactly Beckham or Rooney |

Sounds as if Innocent must have been bullshitting as well then. if the stats are anything to go by then yes he has been hyping it. Which of course he is entitled too do so if he so wishes but it came across as a midfield battle and southends lack of talent going forward. |

| That was a close call then. Cracking second goal for Southend.

Which of course he is entitled too do so if he so wishes but it came across as a midfield battle and southends lack of talent going forward. It doesn't compare to watching it yourself, but speaking to people whose opinion you trust that were there, will always trump any stat analysis. A few mates were up there and they all said the performance was up there with the best so far this season. |

Well yeah, there are quite a few on here that would bemoan a 7-0 win because it should have been 8. The point I'm making is I trust the judgement and knowledge of the mates I know and who went to the game. |

- To anyone being negative....I understand, but that was a really good attacking performance. At times, in the 2nd half, we were unplayable. Make no mistake, Argyle deserved this win. We showed grit, determination and no little skill in going 3-0 up. The team are completely together.
2-3 flatters Southend. Questionable penalty (from the far end view) and a speculative punt, where Letheren was possibly a bit sleepy. We were fun to watch and Lameiras was off the scale, enjoying himself and making the Southend defenders look bang average.
Lots to be positive about. The whole team did well but big props for Sarcevic, Ladapo, Lameiras and Carey. Smith-Brown too. Southend were awful but we didn’t look like a team going down...and that following Wimbledon on Boxing Day when I fancied we were doomed.
Lameiras firing takes the pressure off Carey, meaning League One defences have two really talented forwards to manage at once. Think it might well be as simple as that.
IE Thanks for that breakdown of the match, good to know how we really played, we’re always ready to have a pop at Argyle when we play crap and generally, as has been the case this season, lose, but it should work the other way as well.

From what I've heard from a Southend mate, we were comfortably the better side over 90mins, and then made it difficult for ourselves with two late errors. |
