Lose a game like this and at any club other than the Community club the manager would be sacked.
Oxford manager will keep his job for another week as i feel Oxford will be the eighth team to take three points at the Brentihad.
Legacy 0 Oxford 3.

Foreshore. A draw will keep us in touch of the pack and keep a dim light of hope burning, a loss will leave us marooned at he bottom.

I'm predicting another loss at the Brentihad, another mundane post game interview from the unsackable one, complaining about the booing yobs and a tweet from the American based majority shareholder stating DA is the third most successful manager in Argos history and is wunderful.
Business as usual. cheers

Worst team in the EFL by miles and we're getting worse all the time.

Argo 0-2 Oxford Utd

And we're about to lose the last three L1 standard players we have.

does this change your mind....

GOALKEEPING duties for Argyle will remain in the hands of Kyle Letheren for the visit of Oxford United on New Year’s Day.

Kyle came in for Matt Macey, who suffered a dead leg at Wimbledon on Boxing Day, and did a fine job at Burton Albion in the 1-1 draw in Sky Bet League One.

Macey is on loan at Home Park from Arsenal and there are no thoughts of him returning to his parent-club prematurely as a result of this injury, but the immediate focus is on Letheren staking his claim with another solid display against Oxford.

“He [Macey] had a collision with a Wimbledon player in the second half of the game and came off worse for wear, so he missed the [Burton] game because of that,” said Argyle boss Derek Adams.

“He’s got a dead leg and is out for Oxford. Matt Macey is here for the full season. Arsenal have a recall clause in his contract for January, we don’t have one the other way, so it would be up to Arsenal to recall him.

“Arsenal’s goalkeeping department are in constant contact with Rhys Wilmot, my goalkeeping coach. They speak frequently with the way he has been performing.

“He [Letheren] has got an opportunity now because of Matt’s injury to get some game-time. That’s what happens in football, somebody gets injured and you get the opportunity to claim that jersey.”

This is one of those dreaded must win games and I believe Argyle will just about scrape through, with a 2-1 victory. Oxford have probably got one eye on their FA Cup trip to Brentford.

Joe Riley is a doubt for the New Year’s Day game against Oxford United at Home Park because of a knee injury.
“He took a knock to his knee (against Burton). The other knee to the one which he had a problem with.

“He’s still a possibility for the Oxford game but he is a doubt.”

Adams opted to replace Riley at right-back with Smith-Brown, rather than Tafari Moore, who was also among the substitutes.

Moore had a spell playing regularly at right-back earlier in the season before Riley’s return to fitness.

Smith-Brown was on the bench against Burton after his recent run in the side at left-back came to an end with skipper Gary Sawyer taking up that position.

Adams said: “Ash has played in recent weeks and he was up to game time.

“You can’t tell if he’s left-footed or right-footed. He’s very capable with you, and it was a game that was played in a quick manner.

“It wasn’t going to allow somebody just to come in and feel their way into the game, and Ash had been a regular up until Saturday.”

Neither Riley nor Moore have been able to adequately replace Oscar Threlkeld at right-back this season after his summer switch to Belgian top flight club Waasland-Beveren.

Sawyer moved to left-back against Burton as Niall Canavan returned to the centre of defence after three weeks out with an ankle injury.

Adams admitted that Canavan’s comeback had been quicker than expected.

He trained on Thursday and Friday, and we just thought it would give us that bit of balance being a left-sided centre-half,” said Adams.

Left-sided attacking player Joel Grant is also an injury doubt for Argyle’s game against Oxford.

Grant was briefly on the pitch as a second half substitute during the 2-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day before he had to be taken off.

He suffered a hip problem which continues to be assessed by the Pilgrims’ medical staff.

The midfield pair of Conor Grant and Jamie Ness continue to be ruled out by calf injuries.

Adams said: “Conor will start training next week and Jamie Ness the following week.”
