| It is quite obvious that we are not good enough. That said through all of our tribulations we have, basically, played Ness, Sarcevic, Fox, Carey, Lameiras, Ladapo and Taylor either in midfield or up front. Sometimes we have had Songo'o in midfield too. Sometimes Joel and Conor Grant have played. Whatever the variations this has been quite settled and we know what to expect from (most of) them and it could be argued that Ladapo has been a roaring success. Behind them we have had Macey virtually every game so settled there too. It all goes to pot with the back four (occasionally a back five like today - Songo'o is something of an enigma when he isn't an obvious CB selection...) Just look at this representation of our defence for the season so far. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Whether it be injury, tactics, lack of form that's a whole host of changes with no fewer than 8 differing CB combinations having been used! Namely Edwards/Wootton (3 times), Canavan/Wootton (4), Edwards/Sawyer (2), Edwards/Canavan (3), Edwards/Grant (6), Songo'o/Canavan (9), Peck/Grant (1), Songo'o/Sawyer/Edwards (1). On top of which it is unclear whether Moore or Riley is preferred at RB and Sawyer or Smith-Brown (and possibly Wylde and C Grant too!) preferred at LB. In reality, with the possible exception of Smith-Brown, it doesn't appear as though Adams trusts any of them enough to hold down a regular starting spot in a Wotton/Coughlanesque fashion. Are any of them up to it or do we need an entire new back four when the transfer window opens? Whatever the solution if we carry on as we have done so far we are going to continue to be a shambles and relegation is a racing certainty. |

| Squad is shite. Riley and Moore or Sawyer and Smith Brown.theyre all cack.
End of the day if a player who starts in a postion in a game where we play poorly or lose badly he's out and the next guy is in, I would do the same.
Too many shite players. |

| Thought it was obvious what was going to be a critical weakness this season ?
The writing was on the wall as early as the Yeovil friendly.
Matthews, Vyner. Threlkeld and Bradley all departed, to be replaced by cheap options. |

| Hopefully there will be a large swathe of fans who now realise that trusting in Brent is not going to help. |

| Doubt it. The wannabe culture is deeply rooted. |

| Despite the obvious weaknesses across the defence, the one area where we've had bad luck is Conor Grant getting injured. By luck or design, Adams put him at LB and it seemed to work. He was there for wins against Gillingham, Scunthorpe and Stevenage.
Smith-Brown was targeted again yesterday to good effect for Wimbledon.
