| Am I the only one who thinks Arry's main qualification for the job is that the media like him?
His only trophy is an FA Cup and that with a team that bankrupted the club.
He's a true wheeler-dealer who just scatter guns the transfer market and gets lucky sometimes.
Hardly any European experience, Bond and Jordan do all the coaching, and if the vacancy had come up six months ago the FA wouldn't have touched hin due to their "guilty if charged" policy.
If he's appointed at the end of the season, he'll have a couple of friendlies and start the Euros without the star player. If it all goes tit's up in the Ukraine, he could be being vilified in the media (headlines like "FA should have appointed his dog instead") before he's had half a dozen games in charge.
I'd go for Hodgson, a true football student who has loads more experience. |

I'd go for Hodgson, a true football student who has loads more experience. It isn't just the media that like him. He's generally a likeable sort of fella. But it's what he's doing at the moment with Tottenham that has thrust him in to the 'England favourite' position. Who was the last Spurs manager that put a squad together that was genuinely better than Arsenals? You'd have to go back a long way. If Man City didn't have the Arab billions, then Spurs would be genuine title contenders - you'd have got laughed out of town if you suggested that a couple of years ago. England have got quality players. If they can get someone in as boss that can galvanise that group, we really could seriously contend in Poland/Ukraine. Harry's the man, I reckon. |

I would guess so, especially if you think Harry would have a bigger problem with the media than Woy. He has turned Spurs from an under achieving basket case into genuine title contenders with basically the squad he inherited sitting rock bottom with 2 points from 8 games. The only English manager who even comes close is Pardew. I find it quite amusing the way so many buy the media portrayal of Harry as some kind of affable bumbling fool, the job he has done at Spurs has been truly outstanding in his first go at a big club, he has not spent big yet has a squad to match any bar Citeh's, if he could sign a decent striker to replace Keane/Crouch/soon to be out Pav then they might pose a real challenge to the Mancs. No, I think Harry is far more than the Media's latest darling, but that relationship certainly wouldn't do us any harm. |

| Am I the only one who has stopped caring?
Whoever gets the ridiculously highly paid job will be the man who's going to take England to new heights.
A month later the media hounds will be baying for his head.
I should change my name to include grumpy. |

| We all care PP. It's just £6m a year leaves me wanting revolution ..... if that's ok with you. And let's be honest here, it's not just Capello that was on £6m a year... they're all on it. It's just a recipe for rightful sequestration and revolution... and it yet still might happen.
Outside of the money and disgusting industry politics, I always liked Tel though. he was a right little charmer and I liked his thoughts on football. Gaza's thoughts on football ? ..... did he have any ? |

| Give it to the man who should have been appointed last time and the time before. Ladies and gentlemen allow me to propose the notion that Trevor Brooking is the man we need. |

I should change my name to include grumpy. Oi! that name is taken I'll have you know young man. And no you are not the only one who has stopped caring, football in general but particularly at the top end has become corrupt and until it gets back to being about football and not about where is my next Ferrari coming from then I don't care. |

| Pearce is in the england set up already, been coaching the young ones, who'll be in the next world cup squad, sack off the tw@ts like terry and ferdi, cole and lampard, and start with a team that has actually played together for longer than ashley coles cock size.
then england may stand a chance of being a world force, until then you may as well all come and support the tartan army, for you'll win as much as they do with the present squad |
