I worked over there for a while training up youngsters. The firm I was subbing to refused to let me have a B&B on the Island because it was easier to claim traveling than accomadation, I think the ferry cost £175/day in peak time. If I'd gone over the night before it would have cost about fifty quid.

Mended a puncture today.

Had a bacon bap in Chaplins this morning

Puncture mended but valve knackered - bugger, what a waste of a patch

I bought some posh tyres I think they are Kevlar they are double the price of normals but last way longer and no more punctures from thorns. When they flail a thorn hedge here it's like a five hundred metre stinger.

Don't get so much thorns here, got gatorskins on one bike and land cruisers on the other. Just bad luck the valve went creating a pinch puncture. I know the land cruisers are cheap but don't know how much the gatorskins cost, they came with the bike. It's the cobbles here that are the main problem (and the bloody hills).

Finally brought in the first of my tomatoes today. The rest will probably all ripen at once.

Done some voluntary work in a charity shop today.

Sheep have eaten all my strawberries and all the young beans and flowers up to about a metre off the ground.

Mutton for tea tomorrow? 

No they'll have to wait they are only small ATM however I'm surprised they aren't fatter I've just noticed they have had my Purple sprouting, a couple of rows of parsnips and all the young peas. What with Brexit looming I'll be lucky to make it through the winter at his rate.

thin egg noodles, Not a great fan of the thick ones.

Had a cheese and bacon slice with flaky pastry. Think I've got all the calories I need for the week now and indigestion. As I took the first bite I thought mmm haven't had one of these for ages, I remember why I shouldn't now.

The triffid in the back garden turns out to be a foxglove. Or possibly something else. Definitely not a hollyhock though.
