| Adams wants one more signing
Argyle manager Derek Adams says he expects to bring in a midfielder on loan as his final signing of the summer.
Adams has already brought in 10 new players this summer in all areas of the field as the club look to build on a season which saw them rise from bottom of the table to play-off contenders.
"When you come into any football club you need to have new blood, but you have to have the continuity of the ones that have done well. for you in previous seasons," he told BBC Radio Devon. |

im not expecting us to hit the ground running not because of the strength in squad or anything more to do with it will take time for the whole squad to jel given we seem to like big changes every season. It can be worked on in pre season of course but im not seeing any of those dogshit friendlies we ae playing giving us any testing times for the squad to be tested and speed up cohesion. |

| Derek Adams wants to make one more addition to his Plymouth Argyle squad before the start of the new season.
The Pilgrims’ boss has already brought in 10 new players during a hectic period of recruitment this summer.
Adams is not finished just yet, though. He wants to add a central midfielder to take his squad up to 24 senior professionals.
Argyle will begin their League One campaign away to Walsall on Saturday, August 4.
All of the summer signings got 45-minute run-outs in the Pilgrims’ pre-season opener against Plymouth Parkway at the weekend.
The midfield trio in the first half at Bolitho Park were Conor Grant, David Fox and Jamie Ness while in the second period it was Cameron Sangster, Yann Songo’o and Joel Grant.
Another midfield option, Antoni Sarcevic, is currently recovering from a groin injury which troubled him towards the end of last season.
Adams told Plymouth Live: “We have got one more signing to do.
“It will probably be a central midfield player at this stage, but it depends on other issues.
“There is nothing close at this moment in time but we have obviously got players that we are speaking to.”
Under new rules, EFL clubs have until 5pm on Thursday, August 9 to complete permanent signings before the transfer window shuts.
However, they will still be able to make loan signings until the end of August.
Adams does not intend to run the rule over any trialists during pre-season, which continues with an away game against South West Peninsula League side Torpoint Athletic on Tuesday (7.30pm).
He also confirmed that winger Gregg Wylde was part of his first team plans for the new campaign.
Wylde, 27, returned to Argyle for a second spell on a two-year contract last summer but made only five starts and eight substitute appearances in 2017/18.
He spent the final three months of the campaign on loan to Morecambe, who successfully escaped relegation from League Two.
Wylde played 15 times for Morecambe and scored two goals.
It had been speculated a move away from Argyle could be on the cards for Wylde this summer but he has taken a full part in pre-season training so far.
Wylde played in the second half against Parkway and it was from his corner that Ryan Edwards headed home the Pilgrims’ fourth goal in their 4-2 win.
Asked whether Wylde would leave before the start of the season, Adams said: “No, he’s in our 24-man squad.
“We have got 24 players that are going to be in the squad this season.” |

| matty kennedy would be my pick to sign.
however the bright sparks at Argyle giving a 2 year contract to someone with fecked ankles seems to be stroke of genius with every passing day so it looks likely to be a striker now. Sarveic is also out and i would normally say sign cover but we have fox, ness c.grant and songo'o to cover there so its not a big need ro do that. |

| With the likes of Wylde and Ainsworth in the squad it really does smack of low quality cheapness. |
