Agreed, this guy would be a good signing. So no chance we’ll get him. Blackburn wanted him appaza but couldn’t secure a work permit. |

| Expecting more Argyle new signings in the next few days. Understand six players were lined up for medicals with the club last week. Four new recruits so far so could be two to come. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Roy MacGregor will only agree to sell Sunderland target Jason Naismith if the Ross County defender makes it clear he wants to leave.
The relegated Dingwall club have received three firm offers for the 23-year-old – from the Black Cats and fellow League One clubs Peterborough United and Burton Albion.
Aberdeen have also made a formal inquiry but have not taken the approach further. Derek Adams’s Plymouth Argyle are also reportedly interested.
With Jack Ross, who worked with Naismith for two months at St Mirren, now in charge of rebuilding Sunderland, they have emerged as clear favourites to tempt the right-sided defender south with a £200,000 bid.
But County’s management team of Steven Ferguson and Stuart Kettlewell are desperate to retain Naismith, who is under contract until summer 2020, for the Championship promotion push.
Chairman MacGregor said he wants to meet Naismith today before considering sanctioning his departure.
MacGregor said: “Jason has been on holiday and is only just coming back. We’ve had a couple of bids in and a couple of inquiries and I don’t want him to go. I want him to stay and help us make the recharge towards the Premiership.
“He might feel this is not the place for him and he wants to play at the highest level he can. It will very much be when I talk to him that I see how he really feels about it.
“The management team and I don’t want players here who are not going to be 100% for the cause. We want hungry players who want to be at the club.
“I need to check that out with Jason and understand exactly where he is in his thoughts.
“We have made it clear we want him but does he want the club?”
Naismith was widely considered Ross County’s standout performer last season as the club slipped towards relegation disaster.
The St Mirren youth product, who represented Scotland at every level up to the under-21s, and made more than 100 appearances in five seasons for the Paisley club before joining Jim McIntyre’s County squad in January 2017.
According to the report, Sunderland are in pole position to sign Naismith with a bid of £200,000.

| Aberdeen are determined to win the race for Ross County full back Jason Naismith.
And, according to the Express, the Dons are willing to offer money plus a player for the highly rated 23-year-old.
Peterborough made the first move with a bid of around £200,000 for Naismith but the Staggies want more than that. Sunderland boss Jack Ross is also understood to be interested.
Now the Dons are said to be ready to up the ante by offering cash plus an unnamed player for Naismith. |

| £200K positively "stratospheric" for Green Jim, there must be a few £15k potential signings out there. |

| Linking us with Naismith is pure fiction unless they'd take £15k and five castoffs. |

| Never gonna happen mate , a player of Naismiths calibre and price tag, coming to Austerity Akkeron Argo, I remember the goons getting excited when Shitkey arrived, because he cost Celtic £1.5, who was signed by probably Celtics worst ever manager. As you say fiction, still we can always dream of getting a proper owner and some half decent players in one day. |

| Aberdeen failed in an 11th hour bid to sign Jason Naismith before he made a £250,000 move from Ross County to Peterborough United. Peterborough’s director of football Barry Fry, who expects Naismith to be the best right-back the club has ever had, claimed that both Aberdeen and Sunderland made late moves to try and sign Naismith. | Norwich City is chasing Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman as they look for a new number one this summer, according to The Chronicle.
The 21 year old shot stopper has yet to make his Magpies first team debut in the Premier League, but has had a number of spells away on loan.
He joined Scottish side Aberdeen on loan in January and made 5 appearances during his time at Pittodrie.
The Canaries, are on the lookout for a new first choice next season, as Angus Gunn have now returned to his club
Woodman is keen on a move away from St James’ Park next season in order to gain more valuable first team experience.
It is understood that Newcastle are willing to let their young goalkeeper leave, but only on a loan deal.
Woodman is currently the fourth choice goalkeeper at his parent club, currently behind Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot in the pecking order for the number one shirt.
He has represented England at all youth levels, and has made 6 appearances for the U21’s since his debut in 2016.
He has just returned from the Toulon Tournament with the Young Lions, after helping them win the competition and picking up the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award in the process.
With it looking incredibly unlikely that he will play Premier League football next season, it seems logical that Woodman should drop down a level in order to play first team football. |
