How did that work out. "(but not yet) delivered...." But having said that... With the demolition obviously moving forward, for Brent to knock most of the grandstand down and be unable to put something back in its place, would leave Brent the biggest laughing stock British football has ever seen. Much to my chagrin, I can't see that scenario happening. What is being being built, can be judged upon completion. I doubt it will be winning any awards! |

| With materials and labour costs rising all the time, Brent 'MUST' deliver now things have started. His lip must be going 10 to the dozen! Imagine running out of money and the place is still a construction site in 3 years time! |

The article adds nothing new whatsover. And even if they do sign in June they can't start until the conditions are dealt with. You can smell the desperation from the Brent camp. |

| If theres nothing from the Herald in the next hour and by normal standards they'd have had 6 articles up by now then suspect its something from before. Having said that as Rickler says the MDs words are pretty clear.
Postey is claiming a "good spot" from another poster 14 hours ago. Stating the obvious that the Pig and co would be singing this from the rooftops having their obvious inside "knowledge"

You'd think nobody worth their salt would sign on to a build contract (with time penalties) where planning conditions remain undicharged? Does that ever happen, is there ever much in the way of enforcement? |

Thats because it says nothing that hasn't been said in Brents recent piece of corporate waffle. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Yep have just had email back from the website. Paid for site to big up contractors amongst other stuff. Absolutely nothing to see here. Someones paid for the entry to up their own status within construction |

Does that ever happen, is there ever much in the way of enforcement? You can cover any eventuality with contracts, there's nothing to stop Brent and GL signing a contract with time penalties now but I doubt the clock would start ticking until the planning conditions are discharged and both sides would have to agree on an official start date. Personally I've never signed a contract that had time penalties built into it. They are a nightmare and nearly always end in dispute. Its never straightforward as the contractor will place his own caveats in there on things like making sure certain conditions are met by the client ie planning is Brent's department. With an inexperienced project manager like Back you'd be surprised if there weren't delays. What's clear is that this isn't new news nothing has changed recently just more spin. |
