Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been sacked by Northampton Town after a 2-0 defeat to Peterborough left the club two points adrift of safety in League One.
Hasselbaink took charge of the Cobblers in September with the club bottom of the division and without a point, and the former Chelsea striker made an immediate impression at Sixfields by guiding the club to back-to-back victories in the league.
However, a run of nine games without a victory culminating in the defeat to local rivals Peterborough on Monday has left Northampton third bottom of League One with just five games remaining in the season.
