Yes we are a poor side being led by a tactivly naive young manager but the fact is weve picked up 5 points at home against promotion contenders two of them being in the top three and a narrow 1-0 defeat against port vale which coiuld happen weather we were top or bottom, so not out of the mire by any means, this will go to the wire but we are improving, but you dont get that freathy. what was your prediction for Argyles last 4 games 0 points with probaby 16-20 goals conceded!. Unlucky FFS............... Freathy tries to highlight the bigger picture to those too dim to see it. He has to go to extreme measures but it still doesn't seem to sink in. Don't suppose it would be any different in the Blue Square...........' well Ebbsfleet are a top half side' |

Unlucky It was a fantastic point, and at least we battled right to the end. What worries me is that we can't keep giving teams head starts and expect to get anything out of games we're not competing in for 80 minutes. We almost came back against Crewe, but went away with nothing, same could have happened with the Crawley game, Bristol Rovers game and today. At some point we have to be the team that goes on the offensive and gets the early goal. See what happened when we did against Northampton? I'm ecstatic with a point today, and would definitely have taken it before the game started, never mind at half-time, and now it's time to kick on and get some wins. We're still a long way from safety and a win next week at Macclesfield would turn todays fortunate point into a cracking 4 points from the 2 games. |

| Is the term "Gypo" and chanting of that nature seen as racist in the eyes of the law?
"Gypo" chants heard coming from the Forza choir area and a poster on Pasoti is clearly adamant it is a racist term, forgive the ignorance but I don't know.
Yet more bad racism press if it is infact true.
Fairplay to the drummer guy, by the sound of it he actually improved on the atmosphere.
Still think we need an experienced manager but fairplay to Fletch and the team for getting a very good point. |

Still think we need an experienced manager but fairplay to Fletch and the team for getting a very good point. Apparently the drummer was there? Well, the dulcet tones didn't stretch as far as Block 7, thankfully. The Salsa Verde and 11 on the pitch were in unison in creating nothing for the first 45 mins. Picked up in the last 20 minutes, mind. |

Saddly, the bigger picture is completely lost on these people. Don't get me wrong though, I'm as happy as the next man we just about managed to scrape a draw at home in our (sadly failed) attempt to get out of the bottom 2 well into February. If by some miracle we do actually manage to finish the season out of the bottom 2 (where we have been ALL season), under the non-investing brent and co does anyone think next season will be anything other than another miserable fight against relegation? |

| That is one sad thread. The level of intelligence displayed is very low.
Interestingly though, apart from born again control freak Posty, the usual suspects have stayed out of it.
The reason ? They have looked it up and according the law it was racist chanting.
Didn't one of our members get banned from the farm for supposedly making racist comments about Sweaties ? |

| That thread will get shut down soon. It's going mental on there, and I don't really see what difference it makes whether the guy used to own Rub of the Green or not. Someone has asked the mods to step in but nothing as yet. Maybe they should ask Chris what would happen if one of his Post Office boys was called a Gypo at work and made a complaint about it? |

Gypsies are an ethnic group and as such have the same rights to race relations protection as other recognised ethnic minority groups. It needs stamping out, I dont expect the Club to take this seriously though, nobody seems to care except for the supporters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Satisfied with the late comeback and point but very disappointed with the overall performance. Probably too late to change manager now but never too late to bring in additional coaching staff, do it ffs. |

| And as if by magic the thread disappears into thin air. Handy really as they were literally lining up to keep repeating there's nothing wrong with calling someone a Gypo because it's just banter, even when a link was posted showing the law!

| There was a drum in the BP end too, so it was the Battle of the Drums.
Thought Fletch made the right substitutions at the right time today. And I thought Tsoumou, MacDonald and Lennox all had decent games.
The first goal we conceded though... the worst/most comical of the season.
Great that the team finished as they did given that start.

| Seriously though Tring. Whether you agree or not that it's racist, it is. And it was shown to them all by G n T who provided a link, and they STILL kept slating him, calling him a grass and allsorts of insults, and he told them he had reported it to kick it out, and Hairy J was asking the club or the mods to quickly make a statement to show they don't condone it, and the only response was asking whether G n T used to own ROTG and that site was racist!
feckin imbeciles the lot of them. This could lead to serious trouble for the club, whether the fans like it or not. Thats why the mods pulled the plug. |

The bigger picture!, we are where we are and quite frankly all the moaning about brent is now becomming boring. You seem to think there is someone out there willing to pump millions into the club, well wake up ffs, if that was the case the would have bought the club when it was going for nothing. There is no bigger picture to look at. The club is where it is because it was pooorly run by some chansers. We are a poor club and its going to take years to get going both on and off the pitch. Weve got an owner that is going to run the club like all clubs should be run, within its means, and if that means hopefully staying up and being a midtable L2 side for years to come then so be it. I would rather sup[port a L2 club ran well than a club posting millions of pounds off loses each year chasing dreams, then falling flat on its face. If thats what you want go support Man City. |

When exactly was the Club being offered 'for nothing'?. From memory over the last 12 months, we were constantly told that anyone who wants to take the club on would need £3-6m (figures variable as per message) ready cash. Had the truth been told, who knows who might've showed interest? |

Not so sure 'it's about time' but agree it would be a good initiative on their part. Too bad Webby hasn't 'stepped up' as the organiser of the whole FV shambles. |

| I was with someone who reported a couple in the Lindy for obscene & racist shouting. I must say, from what I heard, that the stewards and then the police dealt with it very seriously & sensitively. Before they moved off they took the reporter out of earshot, to protect him, and then discussed the issue of getting the culprits out without causing a bigger problem. I believe they did this successfully. |

| As for the match.... they won the first half 2 - 0. We won the second half 2 - 0. The result showed that accurately, in my opinion. I don't know what Fletcher said over half-time but they came out a lot brighter in the second half. The player I especially noticed played differently was Hemmings - he became much busier and attack-minded. I had heard good things about Young but I thought he was poor. He was way off the pace, positionally inept and poor distribution. But he's young. It was one game out of an apparent run of good performances.
Highlight of the game? Apart from the goals.... Purse's display of a seasoned thug of a pro. I was impressed - he not only managed that but he also played some neat intelligent football. Right in front of me in the first half, he "accidentally" clipped the heels of a player who had roughed him up a bit. The play had moved to the other end of the pitch but their man was felled! Later on Purse absolutely thumped into the back of another player who had messed him about. Free-kick given but Purse had managed to not make it seem as aggressive as it was. A good signing!
Low point? Apart from the delightful little kiddie aged about three behind me who kicked my seat the whole sodding game whilst the couple of grown-ups with her shouted obscenities at Southend ("effing lady-boy" seemed to be a favourite)....... The inept first-half performance where Southend were quicker to the ball, were more skilful individually, played as a team, fought better and scored. We were dire in the first half!
It should be pointed out that Southend's first goal was a joke worthy of park football. I don't think any of Young, Bignot or Cole should go uncriticised. And, without that goal, we held them to one "proper" goal. Not bad! |
