| What do we think then? I'll be there unfortunately to waste some hard earned money so a straightforward, 2-0 defeat I think A planned minute long applause for some lad in the 24th minute I hear, though I've no idea of the reason. COYG |

| I will be making the short trip down to Southend. I quite like it there. I predict a 3-0 win to Argyle. |

| Our only hope at southend, is to pray that three of theirs get sent off in the first twenty minutes, and that we can then hang on for the nil nil. |

| JOHN Sheridan is sure that at least one new Argyle loan signing will be available for selection against Southend United. With the January transfer window now firmly open, the Pilgrims’ boss has been hard at work looking to secure the services of players that can help aid the Argyle cause on a temporary basis. The key areas Sheridan is looking to strengthen are in central defence and in attack, with the announcement of his first signing expected to be made on Friday. “The central defender will be there for this weekend,” said John. “I am hoping to have at least one involved for Saturday. I am trying to bring another player in – I am just waiting for phone calls now.” Indeed, John has not ruled out the possibility of two new players being named in the squad for the game against the Shrimpers, and he will be keeping his phone close by to push through any potential deals in the coming hours and days. He said: “Hopefully something will happen, and we will have at least one involved for Saturday. “I think it is just important that we strengthen and keep all areas strong. Hopefully that will happen. “I have constantly been on the phone to people and other clubs regarding players, so I am just waiting on one or two phone calls now, and hopefully everything will get sorted. “Definitely, there will be one tomorrow, and a good possibility of two.” [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| THE OPPOSITION - SOUTHEND Phil Brown SOUTHEND boss Phil Brown is trying to sign a new centre-back and striker before the game against Argyle tomorrow. Brown’s promotion-chasing Blues’ squad has been depleted by suspensions and injuries. Centre-backs Cian Bolger and Luke Prosser are both banned for the visit of Argyle to Roots Hall. Bolger was sent-off for the second time this season in the 0-0 draw at home to Dagenham and Redbridge on December 28. As a result, he received a four-match suspension, which started last Saturday when Southend drew 1-1 away to Northampton Town. Bolger was also red carded in the 15th minute of the Blues’ 2-0 defeat by Argyle at Home Park in August Prosser must serve a one-match ban tomorrow after he was sent-off for a second bookable offence near the end of the game against Northampton. Danish defender Mads Ibenfeldt is out of action with a broken foot, so Adam Thompson is Southend’s only available centre-back at the moment. Striker Barry Corr is a doubt for the visit of Argyle because of a back injury while winger Kevan Hurst has had a hamstring problem and is only rated 50/50 to be passed fit. Myles Weston, who can play on the wing or up front, is set to return to action for the Blues tomorrow after sitting out the draw against Northampton with tonsillitis. | PLYMOUTH Argyle could be facing one of their former players Adam Barrett (left) in their League Two clash at Southend United on Saturday (3pm).
Southend manager Phil Brown has not ruled out making an enviable swoop for the much-travelled defender as he seeks to ease his central-defensive problems ahead of this weekend's vital match for both sides at Roots Hall.
With both Luke Prosser and Cian Bolger serving suspensions, Brown's options at centre-back are limited and the former Hull and Derby boss would welcome the chance to speak to Barrett, who has just finished a five-month loan spell with AFC Wimbledon from Gillingham. |

| One in, will we have another for this game?Tom Flanagan has joined Sky Bet League 2 side Plymouth Argyle on loan. The centre-back will remain with the Pilgrims up to and including Tuesday 10th February, the same day they take on Wycombe Wanderers. Flanagan could make his debut for the Home Park outfit at Southend United on Saturday. The 23-year-old has appeared nine times for the Dons this season, helping the men from MK1 to wins over Yeovil Town, Fleetwood Town, Port Vale, Colchester United and Sheffield United in the process. Karl Robinson told mkdons.com: “Tom’s been great and deserves an opportunity to go and play regular football. “As we saw the other day, it’s hard for players who have had limited game time to immediately step in and therefore this move allows him to be 100% ready for when he’s required [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| If going by car, this message from Southend
Prospects Car Park closed for all matchdays
A reminder to our supporters that Prospects Car Park is closed for all game days at Roots Hall.
Prospects kindly allowed us to use the car park for our recent home games against Burton Albion and Dagenham & Redbridge, however, the car park will now no longer be available to use.

| Accrington Stanley's League Two match with Bury on Friday night has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch
A statement on Stanley's website read: "Heavy rain has been falling all day and the referee has inspected the surface and found a sizeable amount of standing water.
What the chance's that our game could be hit by the weather? |
