They've found out that the 4m high sewers installed in late 90's from Millbay and Lipson join under the drop off point of car park and are having to redesign around keeping the control valves underneath.
Also SWW have said any water run off cannot go to drains and they are stuck with either cost (approx £1.5M) of a dedicated pipe to Sutton Harbour or redesign of roof to minimise rain collection.

British Land have revised their plans, Harve. Less restaurants, more cinema seats and an extra bar called the 'Sky bar' apparently, the changes have been made to ‘follow a successful tender process’, to find a development partner that will construct the building.

That's a larf innit? Is that achieved by using cloud averting paint or something? Shame there aren't any slums left down that part of town where the water could be diverted.
Looking at how long it's taken a proffesional organisation to get this off the ground you've got to wonder if and when anything will get done at HP? 2020 completion? 27 months to go less the six months highways delay, 21 months to build, can't see it happening.

The drainage issue was suspected at the beginning of the year. However, what it does show is the economic climate is not so rosy as "they" would have us believe, let alone the whole Brexit thing adding it's great clod hoppers. There's an oversupply of town centre empty properties all over the country. Building commercial new anywhere doesn't make sense at the moment. The large scale building industry is all a bit like the car industry, it has been indirectly hugely subsidised for years since 2008. It's all going to go pear shaped sooner or later, and "they" know it. That's why Brent is safely tucked up in port here, and offered a berth to Hallett. Land banking and squirreling of city assets is safer than developing, now student accommodation ( future under spec social housing ) is supposedly off the menu in Plymouth for a while.
I hope something happens soon at Bretonside. It's been an eyesore for decades, but it sure isn't the best of times. Funny how our views on things change. I was dead against the library moving over to Mayflower St, but having used it and seen ho well patronised and modern it is, I am sort of impressed. The new interactive museum build is speeding along, but then public projects always did perform far better than private profiteers.

Funnily enough, I was in the same room as Nool for over 4 hours at the start of the year. It was just a few months after he had complained to my employer. After asking the organisers who and where I was he didn't come and speak to me.
