Bristol City have broken their transfer record to sign Senegal international striker Famara Diedhiou for £5.3m from French top flight club Angers.

The 24-year-old has agreed a four-year deal at Ashton Gate.

The Robins' previous transfer record of £3.25m was also paid to Angers for striker Jonathan Kodjia in 2015.

Nice profit with Kodjia - sold for £15 million.

Speculate to accumulate Tone. Some bankers have never grasped that simple concept. Rolling Eyes

Both Bristol City and Bristol Rovers have influential backers and will both do well over the years no doubt. I could see Bristol City trying for the Premiership within the next couple of seasons. Bristol Rovers will plump for the Championship one day.

Both clubs are reasonably supported and can get the support when needed, all the best to them (he says with gritted teeth).

Sadly, in this day and age, Argyle can't compete with the two Bristol outfits in financial terms.

It's called investment, without which very little of actual worth and sustainability is ever created.
Our banker just grazes communal pastures in season, tucks away as much as he can get his mouth around, and would never dream of actually sowing his own seed. Far too risky that.

That's true, it's also true that some who did ended up being bailed out by us the taxpayer, such a pity Dawson doesn't support his local team as Lansdowne does.

For all his worth I'm not sure we'd want him Graiser. Even some of his family can't stand him I'm told.

I fear we'll be stuck with the current skimmer for some while yet.

The Herald for some reason ran a video today showing Paul Arnold Garita resuming first team training at Bristol City. Now I cannot find it.
