| There are plans to build a new indoor sports arena adjacent to Ashton Gate to house the Bristol Flyers basketball team's games, the BBC has learned.
Bristol Sport's proposed 3,000-capacity venue may also host netball, badminton, boxing and live entertainment events.
The umbrella organisation that runs Bristol City also has plans for a new training ground at nearby Ashton Vale. |

| Ashton Gate stadium really is something else now. I went there in October for a fishing exhibition which was held in purpose built space under the concourse of the stadium. Both football & rugby teams which share the stadium are knocking on the doors of the big time thanks to Steve Lansdowne's investments.
Take notice Brent. Speculate to accumulate & see what has been achieved by a real businessmen, not a grubby little banker with banker's traits.

| Visited Mother in-law last week, on the annual xmas pressie run to Brizzle. She lives just behind AG. Their ground is now looking like Premiership standard and is quite magnificent. Combined with the new rapid transport infrastructure being built outside the ground, I'd say it's all geared up for big-time footy now. They're 25 years ahead of us now and out of sight. A set-up we could only dream of.
Jealous? Nah. Envious -fooking right I am. |

| Imagine if the club could have developed the car park it used to own for the clubs own benefit? I reckon the right scheme could have put Chiefs in the shade. Luckily I'm not a bitter person and I'm sure that Jimmy will put the money to good use educating his family at Eton and why shouldnt he? There is a gulf in class between Lansdown and Brent and its not just the amount of money they have access to. Lansdown is a City fan and puts that ahead of financial gain (or at least he's putting his money where his mouth is on a long term punt). Brent is only here for the money as time will tell. |
