Ness opted to stay at Scunthorpe United then, with the Iron chasing promotion from League One, but Adams maintained his interest in the 26-year-old.

His patient pursuit of Ness has now been rewarded, after the midfielder became Argyle's fourth close season signing on Thursday.

The pair held talks in Glasgow last month and Ness, who started his career at Rangers, is excited about making the move to Home Park.

His experience of League One, both at Scunthorpe United over the past two years and from a season-long loan stint at Crewe Alexandra before that, should make his transition to Argyle a smoother one for him.

  I still think argo will be giving him a free transfer next year after ten apperances.

we need to have signed by the end of the window a goalie (or 2 if the other guy hasnt signed), a left back, a decent replacement for Carey and 2 decent strikers who can score at this level. I imagine one or two loan signings will make up any other areas that need improving before the window shuts.

i am holding out to deluded hope that the majority of our budget will go on these areas now espcially up front and with carey's replacement.

Rumour is we've bid for Wheeler from Exeter, don't know the credibility of the rumour but it's a bit at odds if we're considering signing Wylde, all conjecture of course.
