| the club will be releasing its retain list on monday or tuesday at the latest but who do you feel should stay for league one and who you feel should be moved on/released. im not including the loan players as they are not our players so wont be here in teh summer unless they are signed up too. next years YTS players are included in the keep list already as they are confirmed already.
for me i would keep
Jimmy Spencer Graham Carey (really hope he stays as he will be vital) Luke McCormick David Fox Antoni Sarcevic Jordan Bentley Alex Fletcher Jakub Sokolík Callum Rose Gary Sawyer Yann Songo'o Sonny Bradley Nathan Blissett Jake Jervis Oscar Threlkeld Ryan Taylor
those i would release are David Ijaha (why he was signed is beyond me) Nauris Bulvītis (clearly fallen out of Del Bheys plans and i cant see him being part of the squad next season as a result)
As for the following im 50/50 on
Gary Miller Connor Smith Jordan Slew Ryan Donaldson Vincent Dorel Marc McCallum Louis Rooney
As for Ryan Brunt. i would offer him the chance to earn a contract by attending pre season to prove his fitness and see if he still got it or not. |

| Sadly, in a world of agencies, zero hours, globalisation and downright hired gun shite, it wouldn't surprise me if any of them were in Plymouth next season, from apprentices to owners. Apparently it's just the brand, the shirt, that counts. I disagree with that. A tribe isn't just a badge. It's continuity and it's values. Without that it's just another awful garage pasty. One thing is foreshore. The list won't be shown until after the open top party.
If I were Adams, I would do to Brent what Brent tried on Torbay Council. |

| I would release the aged midfield 'enforcer' IJN - out of condition these days and carries a lot of timber, always looks like he's been at the prawn sandwiches, The tricky left or is it right winger Webb is another one whose time must surely be up, likes the sound of his own voice but no Mr Motivator. |

| Dont shoot the messenger on this one but apart from the suspects that most will agree on I think Fox will go and more surprisingly Threlkeld. Add Smith Slew Dorel Sokilok or Songo but not both, Bully and Donaldson. Miller in most peoples firing line I believe will stay. Tanner released (or sent back) plus Kennedy expect all rest to be offered contracts. Next season will see a smaller squad I believe 2/3 players less Not set in stone and only my opinion |

He doesn't score and theres the problem ignoring his age which is likely to have a bearing anyway |

| I would expect most will be offered deals, I think over a certain number of appearances they have to anyway. I would keep.
Graham Carey Luke McCormick David Fox Antoni Sarcevic Yann Songo'o Sonny Bradley Nathan Blissett Jake Jervis Oscar Threlkeld Ryan Taylor Gary Miller
I'm 50/50 on these or haven't seen enough to make a call either way.
Connor Smith - Vincent Dorel Jordan Bentley Alex Fletcher Callum Rose Gary Sawyer - I'm not sure he's up to the higher level Jakub Sokolík - Upgrade on Bulvitis but not 100% convinced Jordan Slew - Improved so much when Kennedy replaced him Jimmy Spencer - not bad but I think Taylor is the better player and along Brunt do we really need 3 strikers so similar
The following I think should be released
David Ijaha not up to it at this level Nauris Bulvītis Erratic Ryan Donaldson can't figure out what it is he actually does. Marc McCallum - No idea why he was signed Louis Rooney - We've got plenty of strikers and he Hardly set the world on fire at Hartlepool

It'll be a measure of how crap the budget is when we see who is being offered new contracts. For me only half a dozen are capable of helping us push on in the top half of the table. Adams is gonna have to do a lot of business this summer or a season of struggle awaits. |

| Of those who started the season I would be very keen to keep McCormick, Threlkeld, Bradley, Fox, Carey, Jervis. I'd hope to keep the two reserve goalies and I'd keep Sawyer too as long as he was being too cheeky about the next contract.
Those who have arrived during the season I would expect to be under contract for next so that's Blissett, Taylor, Sokolik and Sarcevic that'll be here too.
The rest? It's a tough old business but if they want massively improved deals then I'd suggest to them that they find one elsewhere because I wouldn't have thought that any of Miller, Bulvitis, Songo'o, Smith, Slew, Spencer, Ijaha or Donaldson are irreplaceable but all of them could "do a job" at the right cost. Of those maybe Spencer and Smith stay and no opinion on Ijaha really because he has been out all season.
Which leaves poor old Brunt. I'm sorry to say this but he hasn't figured for 12 months at all due to his injury so it must be make or break time for him on a medical basis and I fear the worst.
I'd give all of Bentley, Fletcher and Rooney another 12 months. |

Yep, those are the half dozen that could do well in league 1. Possibly Taylor is worth a punt too even though his league1 club were happy to release him last year. Other than that there are obviously a few squad fillers that may be worth a punt, but I think Del needs to be looking at 4 or 5 who are proper league 1 first 11 level. |

| Outside of the very odd outstanding players like Carey, at League 1 / League 2 level, I don't really see much difference in who might do well, especially with an Adams style set up where everything depends on the strictly controlled game plan. The players are almost incidental. That doesn't apply at championship level or similar, as Ross County found out. |

| I suspect the majority of those who have been getting regular first team football will be offered new contracts.
The key 'stay' is keeping Derek Adams for next season. |

| I notice Carey said he wanted to give his all 'if it was to be his last game for Argyle' - or words to that effect - in his post-match interview. He then looked a bit embarrassed. Surprised it made the cut on to the official site. |

| Gary Sawyer reveals his decision on Plymouth Argyle future
When asked if he made a decision on his future, he said: "I'm staying."
Speaking exclusively to Herald Sport ahead of the club's open-top bus parade through the city centre, the 31-year-old said he would be staying with the Pilgrims into 2017/18 on their return to League One.
The Pilgrims' youth product was one of those out of contract this summer after coming to the end of the two-year deal he signed after Derek Adams first arrived.
Sawyer has made 178 appearances for the Pilgrims, 88 of which were in the Championship between 2006 and 2010.
As one of the more experienced pros in the dressing room, he is one of Adams's important lieutenants and leaders among the players.
The former Bristol City full-back said it was an easy decision when weighing up his future after taking one of many steps back to where Argyle belong this season.
"I came back to this club because I wanted to be promoted with them," he said.
"I'd seen it when I was in the youth team obviously and now to be involved in pushing the club back to where it should be was a main aim of mine and we've taken a big step now.
"All my family's down this way and I've always been happy to be here."

Webb is versatile, equally at ease on the left or right apparently. I also hear he can play in the hole... |
