Doncaster manager Darren Ferguson says Argyle will win the title
The outsider
Portsmouth manager Paul Cook spoke after the win against Mansfield It’s fantastic that the title is still alive going in the final day – we looked miles off it a few weeks back. "We’ve just got to keep doing what we’ve done in the past few weeks and hope that Plymouth and Doncaster slip up. ‘I’m looking forward to the week now, although I wish we were in Plymouth’s position where if we win we’d take the title. ‘We’re not, though, but we still have a chance. It’s going to take a lot for us to win the league, but you never know.

Up until yesterday Pompey were happy with promotion. However after yesterday's results, two things have become clear. We need to carry on our fantastic form having taken 25 out of 30 points and we need a helping hand from you guys. On the very last day we could become champions if you can turn over plyMOUTH. It would be the only time we hit top spot. We need a favour from Hartlepool too but if we can hit this. Pompey then becomes one of only 3 or 4 clubs in history to win all 4 divisions!! Up the mariners. Certainly the next time you play us you'd get invites all over our pubs. Southern isn't as good as yours but our hospitality certainly can be! Good luck
Reply Have to say this Admiral. Plymouth is a far better night out though, Allways went to Diamond Lills

Plymouth Argyle sit top on 86 points, and three more away at Grimsby Town will see them crowned champions of the division.
The trophy will be at Blundell Park and presented to the Pilgrims should they hold off the challenge of Doncaster Rovers and Portsmouth.

Plymouth Preview
Town take to the pitch for the final time this season when they host Plymouth Argyle at Blundell Park on Saturday night (5:30pm) in a game that will play a huge part in deciding where the League Two title ends up.
The Mariners will be looking to finish the season on a high and with three straight home wins before the summer break, but to do so they will need to a spoil a promotion party.
Over 1,900 Argyle fans are making the trip for the game, with a victory for Plymouth seeing them promoted as champions, so it promises to be a good atmosphere to round off the campaign.
Grimsby team news
ZAK Mills and James Berrett are both major doubts for Saturday's final Sky Bet League Two fixture of the season against Plymouth Argyle (5.30pm).
Both players missed last week's trip to Barnet with hamstring injuries and could miss out against title chasing Argyle.
Gavin Gunning will serve the third game of his three match suspension on Saturday.
Russell Slade has confirmed that Akwasi Asante has undergone surgery on his troublesome ankle. Speaking at today's press conference, the Town boss said: "Asante has had an operation on an ankle that needed clearing out. There was a little foreign body in there that needed to be extracted. That will probably take a few months, probably the back end of pre season before he will be in doing at bit more work with us.
"He's had it done, that's the good thing, " he added.
Russell Slade also confirmed that Luke Maxwell has been allowed to return to his parent club Birmingham City.
Ashley Chambers is available to the Town boss after completing his loan at Nuneaton Town. The midfielder scored nine goals in fifteen games for the Warwickshire side.
OPPOSITION
It has been a season where Plymouth have achieved their main objective in winning promotion to League One, and they will be looking to go one better on their farewell to League Two at the weekend.
Promotion was confirmed with a convincing 6-1 win over Newport County on Easter Monday, and Saturday's victory over Crewe Alexandra coupled with Doncaster Rovers' loss at Exeter City means that Argyle's chances of the title are in their own hands.
Manager Derek Adams has been in charge at Home Park since June 2015 and led the club to the League Two Play-Off Final last year before building on that this campaign. The Scotsman made his name at Ross County, where he won two two promotions and the PFA Scotland Manager of the Season in 2012, and he has brought that success over to England so far.
Argyle have built their successful campaign on wholesale changes last summer, which has resulted in them having extremely solid defence and pace to burn on the counter-attack. Two players made the PFA League Two Team of the Year last month in defender Sonny Bradley and midfielder Graham Carey, who is the club's top scorer from midfield with 14 goals.
The two sides met in November, with Town picking up one of their best results of the season by coming away with a 3-0 victory against the league leaders through a first half goal from Danny Collins and a brace from Omar Bogle
FORM GUIDE
Town: WLDDLWWLWL Plymouth: WDWWLWDWDW
PRE-MATCH
Russell Slade: ''This is a huge game Saturday, particularly for Plymouth. There's a lot at stake for them in many ways, its gonna be a packed crowd so we're gonna loo kforward to it so its gonna be a challenge and its one we 've gotta try and embrace and make the best of it because they're not gonna be turning up in their flip flops, and there's still players fighting for a contract here.''
Derek Adams: We’ve been relentless away from home this year,” said Gary. At this level, it is effectively pretty much the same game every week, really – it doesn’t tend to differ too much. There has been no let-off. It’s been 100mph from start to finish, which happens if you are going to get promoted. Saturday will be massive for the boys. To be able to get on the coach [after the game], knowing there are no more games left and you’ve got a trophy at the front of the bus – that’s what everyone is playing for and that’s what we all want.”
THE FINAL TRIP
Argyle's long haul to Grimsby Town on Saturday will see the Greens complete a total of 11,639 miles on the road this season.
just to bring home a bit of silverware, will it be worth it? COYG lets party
2 - nil win for the Greens

Darren Ferguson's plan to ruin Plymouth Argyle's day
DARREN Ferguson reflects on the expression on Nigel Clough's face during the final game of last season when asked how he intends to deny Plymouth Argyle tomorrow.
The Doncaster Rovers manager takes his South Yorkshire side to relegation-battlers Hartlepool United tomorrow, one point behind leaders Argyle with one match to play.
After being top for approximately four months, their slide at the final hurdle must have been a tough pill to swallow in training this week.
With the Pilgrims away at mid-table Grimsby Town and the odds stacked in their favour, Ferguson has had to draw on last season's finale as inspiration for how his team can pile the pressure on Argyle from more than 130 miles away (91 miles as the crow flies).
"The way I've looked at it and approached it, and we've had a meeting on Tuesday about it, is we need to go ahead," Ferguson told Doncaster Free Press.
"We need to put as much pressure on Plymouth as possible.
"We want to make sure we start really aggressively, get in front and really put the pressure on Plymouth.
"I remember last season, when we played Burton here, and they needed a point to go up.
"Walsall needed to win to put pressure on them and they went 4-0 up after 30 minutes.
"I remember the look on Nigel Clough's face. They were shocked and it really affected them.
"The game here ended up being a bit of a farce because we were down to nine men but you could see the effect the pressure had on them.
"If we can put pressure on Plymouth, who have to win, it gives us a chance."
Mentality and mind games also crept into Ferguson's rhetoric when facing the media for the final time before the Hartlepool trip.
As the new team in top spot, Ferguson is hoping Argyle trip up in the same way Rovers have of late under that pressure of expectation.
"I just want the players to do themselves justice and show everyone that we've shown twice on television previously how good a team we are," he said.
"It's a game where tough mental players will have to play, but saying that, the pressure is now off us a little bit.
"Let's see how Plymouth handle the pressure. We've handled it for pretty much four months. We're now the chaser and I think it makes it a bit easier."

i refuse to count chickens before the final whistle concerning our game. Grimsby beat us 3-0 at home back in november when we played shit and they were spot on tactically so they are more than capable of upsetting the apple cart.

I'd still wouldnt take them lightly. We have seen all season its these sort of teams that we fall apart playing. We will have to be deadly and assertive tomorrow.

The whole scenario of Argo, Donny or Pompey having a chance of taking the title on the last game of the season, almost makes L2 interesting. Feeling reasonably confident we can wipe a smile off Fergies face today.

I have a strong feeling you'll do it.
For a number of reasons I actually hope you do, as heretical as it might sound to certain people.
Can't quite bring myself to wish you good luck :-) but err...
...don't have bad luck.
