| Welcome to the Morecombe football thread
More optimistic then last week games, Morecombe as been playing well away this season. They beat Argyle at home in November 2 to 1, we only had ten men when Slew was sent out.
I am going for 3 2 win with a healthy crowd of 9,450

| Morecombe view on the up coming game
Morecambe are hoping
history repeats itself when they face Plymouth Argyle
tomorrow. The Shrimps travel to Home Park on the back of three consecutive defeats this month against Blackpool, Yeovil Town and Newport County AFC. However, Jim Bentley’s players got the better of Argyle when the two sides met at the Globe Arena in November, snapping a club record seven straight home league losses. Having been unfancied to claim three points on that day, Bentley is hoping the ‘outsiders’ tag is similarly successful on Saturday. “We’ve done it before this season when no one gave us a chance,” he said of November’s victory. “Plymouth were riding high at the top of the table but everyone is capable of beating everyone else in this league.
“Plymouth haven’t been great at home lately because they have lost a couple of games but it’s a good place to go and play. “There will be a decent crowd as they are fighting for promotion and we’re hoping to get back to winning ways and, hopefully, that will be the case.” Argyle have lost three of their last four league matches at home with Leyton Orient, Notts County and Blackpool having won at Home Park within the last month. Nevertheless, they remain second in the League Two table, six points behind Doncaster Rovers but 10 clear of fourth-placed Carlisle United with nine games of the season to go.
“They have ambitions to get out of the division and have a decent manager in Derek Adams,” Bentley said. “They will come at us because they are the home side. “They have got some very good players in there like Graham Carey, who is one of the best players in the division. “Jake Jervis is a good player and Matty Kennedy is doing well for them. We know they are a strong outfit with players who can hurt you. “They have had a good season, playing Liverpool in the FA Cup as well, and have been in the top three for the whole season.
“It’s going to be a hard game for us but Doncaster Rovers, Portsmouth and Carlisle United were as well and we picked up points in our away games against them. “They won’t underestimate us but we have to make sure we turn the corner with regards to how we perform to get something from the game. |

| I think you'll find attendances will be 10,000 plus for remaining home games. Be startled if otherwise. Going for 1-0 victory |

| DEAN WHITESTONE will referee Plymouth Argyle for the fourth time this season in their League Two game against Morecambe at Home Park on Saturday.
The Pilgrims have won on all three previous occasions when the official from Northamptonshire has been in charge.
They were the 2-0 Devon Derby victory over Exeter City at St James' Park in September, plus the FA Cup wins away to Mansfield Town and Newport County.
Whitestone has shown 105 yellow cards and sent-off two players in 37 games this season
He will be assisted by Robert Dabbs and Simon Knapp Th Fourth Official is Adrian Quelch

| It'll be yet another dire performance from Argo with Morecambe easily the better side. Only question is how many of their numerous chances will Morecambe put away? |

Looking forward to the day, three six nation games to watch, all the footie results to follow and cider all in and hopefully a Argo win against the mighty Morecombe and moving closer to promo away from this shit league. You need to tell them of the perils of PASOTI mate. Took my lad to the game at Morecambe. We created enough chances to win but hit the bar/post too many times and were a bit fragile at the back which let them score with ease! Different at HP this afternoon, no Tuesday night curse bollix. Up and at em. |
