| Always seen him a bit of a knobber but watching a debate in the HsoP this morning he seems to have morphed into a knowledgeable, erudite, reasonable, capable and yes, funny debater.
I leave this to become what I suspect might be the least supported thread in the history of ATD. |

About as heavily NOT pro European as you could possibly get, in the past our agreement on that didn't stop me disliking him intensly, he seems to have mellowed and lost that stary eyed intensity which put so many off him. |

Whether you view an issue from the left or the right it's still the same issue, the debate today was on Europe and our current Govt's stance, there was cogent debate coming from both sides along with a degree of left and right bluster, all I am saying is that JR appeared to have adopted a less strident form of delivery and restricted himself to mocking the loons whilst putting a reasonable case for his own particular point of view, nut cases imho tend to be incapable of making their point clearly and in a reasoned manner. |

Apologies Tis, was mistaking him for Hesseltine - How the hell did I manage that? Personally I don't have too much of a problem with right wingers that are also Eurosceptic. I have a bigger problem with one eyed left wing Scotsmen. But the world would be boring if we all thought the same. |

As long as we don't have to watch that other tosser Salmond, that wouldn't be a bad thing either. |

| If it's a choice between Scottish or English parochialism, I'll have a hard job choosing. |
