| Plymouth Argyle strongly linked with move for Oxford striker - from link written by Errington wrote:
- OXFORD United striker Ryan Taylor could be about to become Plymouth Argyle's fourth signing of the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old is being strongly linked with a move to the promotion-chasing Pilgrims.
Taylor was not included in Oxford's squad for their superb 3-0 FA Cup fourth round win at home to Championship club Newcastle United on Saturday.
Former Argyle captain Curtis Nelson scored one of the goals for the League One outfit.
The 6ft 2in Taylor signed for Oxford on a two-year contract in May 2015.
New Argyle signing Antoni Sarcevic (left) played for Shrewsbury earlier this season
This season, he has made a total of 18 starts and 13 substitute appearances for the U's and scored four goals.
Taylor missed the second half of Oxford's League Two promotion-winning campaign in 2015/16 because of a groin injury.
Oxford boss Michael Appleton said; "There are still bits and pieces to be sorted but it looks like he's going to pastures new.
"I don't want to say too much out of respect to Ryan because I want to make sure it goes through and happens.
Striker Nathan Blissett signed for Argyle from Torquay United at the start of January
"I expect by the end of play Sunday or Monday morning for him to be plying his services elsewhere."
Before signing for Oxford, Taylor had previously played for Rotherham United, Bristol City and Portsmouth.
He also had a loan spell with Exeter City towards the end of the 2009/10 season.
Argyle manager Derek Adams has already signed centre-back Jakub Sokolik, striker Nathan Blissett and midfielder Antoni Sarcevic during the January transfer window.
Striker David Goodwillie also parted company with the Pilgrims last week after his contract was cancelled by mutual agreement. He wouldn't be a bad signing at all if we do sign him as he can score a few. Certainly would beef up our strike force more as Garritta isnt going to fire them in much. Doesnt come across as a winger though as Del wants one more than anything,. |

| Been on another thread since yesterday Zoo Corner [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]and this RYAN Taylor is close to agreeing an exit from Oxford United, with the striker being strongly linked with a move to Plymouth Argyle. The 28-year-old is in talks to depart over the weekend and was left out of the squad which beat Newcastle United 3-0 in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round. U's boss Michael Appleton said: "There are still bits and pieces to be sorted, but it looks like he’s going to pastures new. "I don’t want to say too much out of respect to Ryan, because I want to make sure it goes through and happens. "I expect by the end of play Sunday or Monday morning for him to be plying his services elsewhere." Taylor has scored eight goals from 37 starts since signing for United in May 2015. United are hoping to tie up one deal for an attack-minded player on loan before Monday, while Appleton hinted there could be another deal before the transfer window closes on Tuesday. | Possibly not Taylor as they've tweeted a picture of Colin Dexter- Dexter Blackstock being swapped for Purrington?
Colin Dexter wrote Morse which is based in Oxford so could still be Taylor.

Don't google Dexter Blackstock. Likely to get done for breach of FA rules for acting as Henri Lansbury's agent and being a lazy prick on the field.

| Passed the hour mark. The clubs twitter page's joke is boring now. how long does it take to announce one player signing and one leaving they have done so often. |

Perhaps they better just go on google and post a pic of who it is. They like doing that with their cock teasing jokes. |

| Decent, experienced striker who knows what it takes to get out of this league. Well done to Derek Adams, good signing, hopefully. |

| Sounds like a decent signing. Confused by the earlier ramblings here, was there a fee involved?
Along with Sarcevic we might've secured 2 decent signings. Let's hope we don't lose anyone in the closing stages of this window. |
