| Sky reporting Villa in advanced talk with Barnsley for Hourihane and James Bree with them likely to cost MORE than £3m EACH !
Widely reported our sell-on was 20% - £600k
Jimmy B has shorely never had such a prosperous January! |

| That's getting on for £1.8m unbudgeted income this season, may be approaching £2m in fact.
If a good chunk of that isn't used to ensure promotion than surely Brent will have some questions to answer. Not that he'll answer them. |

| "If you hang around long enough, eventually you get lucky" Jimmy Brent talking about owning a football club. Mind you the luckiest character has to be Hallett. Does he get half the huge profit this year after just a few months on the scene ? I bet Jim has thought about that one. LOL |

Jimmy B has shorely never had such a prosperous January! I bet Jimmy wishes every January would be like this from now on. There is so much money sloshing around Home Park, Jimmy does not know what to do with it [SIC]. Meanwhile, Adams will probably have to go cap in hand for a possibe January transer signing. |

If a good chunk of that isn't used to ensure promotion than surely Brent will have some questions to answer. Not that he'll answer them. How much of it do we need to ensure promotion though? Indications are this squad is more equipped than last season's to finish off the job. Saturday's result was warming because it's the type of thing that promotion teams do: win at the last gasp on an ugly January pudding of a pitch. I'd be more concerned about Angry's fear that any war chest being built up is not used in the summer to see that we establish ourselves in League One if and when the time comes. |

| I would tend to agree. One or two quality loans and we should have enough to see out the season. It's a big risk though, after the last two disappointments. I'd prefer to see us also pick up a couple of guys we think can play at the level above. Surely there are bargains to be had, as mid-table clubs look to cash out on players who might leave for free in the summer?
That said, it's got to be cheaper to snag out of contract players, even with signing bonuses. I wouldn't be surprised to see us try and do it that way, and hope we don't get bit by injuries or loss of form. Fine if it works, but a third collapse would surely cause rumblings of dissent?
Plus, we really do need to start tying down our players whose contracts are expiring. Whether we go up or not, Adams can't be expected to build yet another squad, and hit the ground running! |

| I bet there are a few arses making buttons at HP the longer this Hourihane saga goes on. There were rumours yesterday of one or two Prem teams that may be looking to gazump Villa too. All well and good I guess just so long as it happens before Jan 31st. |

No Ambition ! this '' do everything on the cheap, shut your eyes and hope'' attitude doesn't wash anymore. The club have a chance with this money to win people back, i hope they don't waste the opportunity |

| Another splooge of cash into the PAFC bank account.
Cash to be reinvested into infrastructure and signings one would hope, and im optimistic for once that their will be some investment in the club. Moderate investment, perhaps some re-numbering of the old wooden seats in the grandstand or a new flymo for the groundsman. Its when PAFC get to the Championship you gota watch out for the financials, history has shown that the janners collectively all shit themselves at the prospect of top flight football and conspire to sell all the assets, and leave wiping cock on the curtains on the way out |
