Failed two seasons running, hope its not going to be three! Rather a strange thing to say, seeing as this season isn't halfway through yet."Failure" is a relative word to describe Adams tenure-there seems to be a perception that because Argyle attract gates regularly in the top 3 of the division and are one of the bigger clubs therein, then promotion should automatically follow. But that advantage ceases to be an advantage unless the higher gates are reflected in budgetary terms, which if Adams is to be believed,is plainly not the case. For sure, you get the occasional club that bucks the trend and gains promotion against the odds but they're the exception rather than the rule and if you should get your wish and Adams is not in charge next season, then it would be very interesting to see if the club could attract someone who could deal with both the financial constraints which are being applied combined with the weight of expectation which goes with managing Argyle in this division. Wouldn't bet my life savings on it personally. |
