Andy Hessenthaler: Leyton Orient part company with manager
League Two side Leyton Orient have parted company with manager Andy Hessenthaler after just five months in charge, reports BBC Radio London.
The 51-year-old is the first managerial departure in the Premier League and English Football League this season.
Orient are 14th in the table after suffering back-to-back defeats, having won three of their nine league games.
Hessenthaler signed a one-year deal in the summer after taking charge for the final five games of last season.
Former Dover and Gillingham boss Hessenthaler was the seventh different Orient manager since Italian businessman Francesco Becchetti bought the east London club in the summer of 2014.
The O's finished eight last season, just six points outside the play-off places.
Hessenthaler was previously assistant to Ian Hendon and then Kevin Nolan at the Matchroom Stadium, and was initially appointed on a caretaker basis in April after former West Ham midfielder Nolan departed.
Assistant manager Andy Edwards, 45, is set to take charge of the side for Tuesday's home match against Plymouth Argyle. |

| good news
STRIKER Paul-Arnold Garita has been added to Plymouth Argyle's squad for the away League Two game against managerless Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.
However, Pilgrims' boss Derek Adams was non-committal about whether the loan signing from Bristol City would be involved in the fixture at Brisbane Road.
Garita was ruled out of the 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United at Home Park on Saturday by hamstring trouble.
The 21-year-old first picked up the problem during the 2-0 Devon derby victory over Exeter City at St James' Park on September 17.

2 nil to us It was our best days for away matches when the boys were away. I had the two boys at uni, one at Cardif and the other at Brunel in London. It was a lot of weekends away great time but costly. |

| Going to this one - first game of the season after an aborted mission to Reading for the cup game.
Time seems to have flashed by since the last visit when the 3-1 win seemed to have set us back on course for automatic promotion.
A few pre-match beers and a curry, then settle in to watch the game. Going into it with a 'suck it and see' approach - think the next few games might signal if we're heading for a properly strong season or not.
Hoping to see Carey firing and Garita fit.
Come on Argo. |

Yes likewise, he is very close to griffin Park, home of Brentford Fc, we have it planned to watch a couple of London derbies. Would be good to catch some championship games, bloody bored with league 2. |

When the young one took his MA it was in London and he lived five mins from Brisbane Road, old West Ham also round the corner. to pay for his MA he worked on the underground. The other one move around and he once lived near Griffin Park, 7- 0 we lost with Shilts in charge 1994, bus ride back to his pad was no fun. |

| Midfielder admits O's have to show what they are made of against league leadersOrient vice captain Liam Kelly admits tonight’s game carries massive importance as they look to bounce back from successive defeats. Having lost out 1-0 at home to Yeovil Town, they followed up with a 3-1 loss at Notts County – their first away defeat of the campaign. Kelly admits it’s been a disappointing week, and knows they have to put it right tonight against the League Two leaders. “It is a massive game for us,” Kelly told leytonorient.com “Two defeats on the spin is not good enough and it has been a very disappointing week. Hopefully we can learn from this and there is no option, but to put it right against Plymouth.” The 24-year-old was disappointed with the manner of the goals the O’s conceded at Meadow Lane on Saturday, and admits there has to be an improvement across the pitch. “I don’t think many teams have cut us open. It is just that concentration,” he added. “It’s very disappointing. The lads are hurting and the staff. It wasn’t good enough from start to finish at the weekend. “I didn’t think there was much in the first half. I didn’t think we played particularly well. We didn’t threaten a great deal but neither did they. It was quite a dead first half and second half we’ve shot ourselves in the foot by conceding a sloppy early goal. “The goals we are conceding are really poor. If you are going to concede goals like that then you don’t stand a chance in any game this season. It is something we have to look to put right and hopefully it doesn’t happen again. “We take it on the chin as a team and we need to move on. We have another tough game tonight. It is going to be a good test of character. Read more at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| All the information as the O's host the League Two leaders tonight at the Matchroom StadiumOrient will be hoping to end a run of two defeats when the O's host league leaders Plymouth Argyle tonight. Following a 1-0 home loss to Yeovil Town last time out at the Matchroom Stadium, Orient followed it up with a 3-1 defeat at Notts County. Jonathan Forte, Jon Stead and Aaron Collins were all on target for the Magpies, while Paul McCallum netted for Orient and the O's now lie in 14th place going into tonight's encounter. Plymouth come into the game sitting pretty at the top of the table with 19 points from their nine games so far this season. After starting the campaign with back-to-back defeats, the Pilgrims are currently on a seven game unbeaten run, and on Saturday drew 1-1 with Hartlepool United. Jake Jervis’ 84th minute penalty salvaged a point for Derek Adams’ side, who were trailing after Nathan Thomas had put the visitors in front at Home Park. TEAM NEWS Defender Yvan Erichot is a doubt for the O’s after picking up a groin injury in the 3-1 defeat at Notts County. Ulrich Nnomo made his debut off the bench for the O’s at the weekend, and will be pushing for his first start, while O’s caretaker manager Andy Edwards could make other changes to the side which lost out at Meadow Lane on Saturday BETTING (Odds correct at time of preview) Leyton Orient can be backed at 13/10 to win tonight’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Plymouth Argyle Plymouth Argyle are priced at 2/1 to pick up all three points, while the draw is available at 12/5. | Former Argyle boss Holloway predicts good times for Pilgrims
Plymouth Argyle will record a narrow 1-0 victory against Leyton Orient on Tuesday, according to former Pilgrims boss Ian Holloway.
The 53-year-old has been doing punditry work for Sky in recent times and often makes predictions for Football League games.
Tuesday's Argyle game against managerless Orient is the League Two match of Holloway's choice and he has predicted not only a victory for his former club, but a successful season as well.
"Plymouth had a bad first couple of games but they've come back superbly to record an impressive run of the results," Holloway wrote on his Sky Sports prediction piece.
"They could get promoted this year.
"Leyton Orient are struggling, they've lost their last two and I think they'll lose again here.
