| Rather than link I've copied and pasted from the Farm regarding Ground Ownership from "davie nine" last night
"JB is a shrewd businessman who is not likely to take a catastrophic gamble in the way that our 'administration' Board did.
I feel that the addition of Simon Hallett, also very experienced in business finance, strengthens our Board and, if they decide that it is in the interests of PAFC to buy the ground, I would be confident with their decision.
I certainly do not believe that there would be any ulterior motive in buying the ground.
Link anyway.....http://www.pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=95489&start=26

| Belief. There's a thing.
If you have it then facts are irrelevant. Belief allows religions to thrive and blundering political decisions to be made.
I happen to think that the combined history of football club owners suggests that belief in (most of) them would be wildly misplaced. The couple of exceptions in the modern game that spring to mind are Gibson at Middlesbrough and Lansdowne at Bristol City who both appear to be so altruistic it beggars belief but the list of charlatans is far longer.
Until the evidence stacks up otherwise I think the only sensible default position is one of scepticism for all of them.
And what scant evidence there is does not reflect suggest that Brent, Lansdowne and Gibson are of the same ilk. |

| It's just too easy for James Brent & his board, who all stand to gain substantially from the purchase of HP.
The stadium being owned by the club is the best possible outcome really, then Brent cashes in his newly revalued share capital and disappears into the sunset.
What is more likely though, is the stadium and football club will be separated, allowing Brent to keep control of the asset, charge the club rent and milk Argyle for as long as he likes.
It's just too easy... no scrutiny, no questions asked, the Trust are passive, the Nooligan and his self promoting bum chums have been pacified with AAA pass and trips to the boardroom, exec box at games etc. The official club message board will quickly stifle and sensor any criticism, and a large part of the fanbase are too thick to care, well done James you've been a smooth operator from the start.
All Plymouth Argyle fans did was to bend over and assume the position - especially willing were the status craving self promoters, giving away a title or trips to the board room costs virtually nothing
Piggy is happy so long as he gets to drink from his masters trough and drive him to games, and if you think Jonesy will resign over this issue like he supposedly did in 2005, then forget it. That will prove he didn't quit due to principle back in 2005, more that he was getting sand kicked in his face from Stapes

| At least there is a club to support though right? The refurbished portakabin will open soon selling warm cans of Carling. Bring your own Rustlers to take advantage of the microwave, and enjoy a song from a toothless twat with a guitar
Why not bring the wife? Prez Plebb be popping in to select the best of breed for a personal tour of the Exec Lounge, and a ride in the Presidential Ford Focus

Jones made a verynicethankyouverymuch profit last time from share sales. He could no doubt start to see the writing on the wall and timed his exit to perfection. To make money from a football club you have to be either (1)very lucky, (2)very shrewd, or (3) a caniving shyster. Jones was a mix of 1 and 2. Brent is the archetypal 3. |

| This has such echoes of 2007 that I genuinely can't believe that any reasonably intelligent person isn't worried of the same thing happening again. 'NEVER AGAIN' they cried. |

'NEVER AGAIN' they cried. The Pig allows no "reasonably intelligent person" to post on the Farm |

| I wish people would lay off James Brent, he's turned us into a really great Division 4 club. |

edited no idea why link not working as per normal The feckers deserve the kind of club they believe in and wish for. Plymouth Argyle, probably the only professional club with a reluctant owner. |
