| Only played 1 game of rugby against Bodmin School. Well saying that, amongst all the fighting a game of rugby broke out! |

Dunlop, Frank, you down for this one? I'll give you a lift if you want.
Frank, I'll pick you up outside the Cherry at 1830.
Mike, be around my house by 1810?
As well as Derek Adams we also have Craig Brewster, legend Paul Wotton and for good measure club secretary Jon Back. |

As well as Derek Adams we also have Craig Brewster, legend Paul Wotton and for good measure club secretary Jon Back. Thank feck for the Internet. If it wasn't for the world wide web there would literally be no way that Nool would have been able to contact his buddies. It's a shame that it had to be broadcast publicly, but hey ho you can't have everything. |

Enjoyable night and nice to see Paul (LG) looking so trim (I won't mention the shirt).
Warm welcome for us Devonians as normal and twas good to be amongst like minded Argyle fans.
Proper night.
Waiting on BBC 1 report this posted on the farm

PACSA meeting at Bodmin
Reducing the width
Done it before, nothing unusual. Want game kept closer together.
Happy or not?
Delighted with pre-season. Sorted contracts and moved on with signing and re-sinings. Good position. Good squad. Opportunity to be flexible. Tougher league this year and we've started well.
Goalkeeper Captain
Like most experienced player. Knows club, staff and surroundings. Captain's role not to relay instructions, never has been the case with DA as manager. Leaders throughout the team and not necessary for him to be instructing the side.
Louis Rooney
Training with first team for a year and improving. International experience will help. No enquiries to go out on loan at the moment. Better he stays close.
Craig Brewster and Paul Wotton
Lots of experience in management. More bodies help the coaching. Paul knows the league and the area and the ethos of the club. The relationship is very good and we've moved the club forward and the assistants have helped with that.
Paul Wotton transition to coaching
Frightened initially. Now a pleasure to be with the lads and learning from the manager about coaching and the whole back up role and office work.
Craig Brewster on his role.
Not as enjoyable playing but watching players develop and produce good performances is enjoyable.
Goodwillie on Saturday
He prefers to play in a 2. Saw early on that we would have to evolve this year. But as the season goes on sometimes the players dictate the system you must play. Even with 4-4-2 one striker often drops into the hole. We don't play one up front we play 3 up front. Can't think of a time when Argyle under Adams have played 1 up front.
This squad v last season
Stronger squad this year. Financial position down to previous manager spending budget on longer contracts before I arrived.
Playing out from the back.
Trying to encourage short passing game with movement to go up he pitch. Not hitting the ball long. Side to side long balls sometimes necessary to stretch the game.
David Fox
Experienced player and very composed. He cool and brings calmness. His age also helps with the experience and possibly with helping younger players.
Karleigh Osbourne
Be a while before he is fully fit and avialable but the two existing centre-backs are playing well at the omen anyway.
Craig Brewster on being at Argyle
Very well organised club with lots of positive vibes. Need to make sure we go up this year.
Checkatrade Trophy
Understands why it is being done and all extra revenue helps. Competition is probably devalued by the format. Believes it is designed to help premier league youngsters.
Garita
Every loan signing is a risk. Most of the loanees have been successful both for Argyle and their parent club. Paul Wotton used a contact.
Craig Brewster settled?
Family settled in Surrey. Delighted with work move but obviously family comes first.
Attracting Players
Worked with many players before. Sometimes it is easy as number of fans and how club is doing and they want to be part of it. Possibility of success also helpful in attracting players. Distance form other clubs and relocation is obviously an issue but once here players settle quite quickly.
Oscar Threlkeld and Craig Tanner
Persistent in pursuing Oscar. Tanner pleased to be back.
David Ijaha
Working on his fitness level. He's strong on the ball and technically good. Squad game but all will be involved as we need them. Part of a powerful side. Wotton wouldn't want to mix it with Songo'o or Garita.... or Brew.
Wembley
Pitch was slow but we didn't play well. Prepared as we normally would but just didn't work on the day. More disappointed with run in after Christmas. Exeter, Dagenham and Accrington games key. Doesn't think many people would have picked a different starting 11 to the one selected.
Attracting all the players he wanted?
Other clubs spending more money than we do but we are doing it prudently and DA happy with budget.
Wycombe on Boxing day
DA doesn't want particularly to see Gareth Ainsworth on Boxing day. Thinks that the fixture computer has been unkind.
Dutch Training Camp / pre-season
Went very well. We will do it again if we get the chance. Nice to have the fans with us. Good for bonding for players. Nothing planned for pre-season at the moment.
Mayflower Terrace
It is a disadvantage not having the supporters behind the opposition. Not professional to relocate to Lyndy (Luton tale note).
Spare time for coaching staff.
Wotton spends his time with his children. Son is in under Argyle coaching. Brewster - family takes up spare time.
Scotland v England
More time in Scotland to train. Many more games in England. Recovery time is useful whenever it comes. Had to modify his training regime to suit English circumstances. Small squad last season may not have helped in final months. Competition wasn't good with a small squad and people knew they were certain to start.
Ryan Brunt
Minor set back to his injury and having another operation tomorrow. Still hopeful to have him back for December.
How difficult to reposition players?
(Brewster) The manager tells you where to play. We look at all the attributes a player can bring to any position. Maybe a left-back has attacking attributes and can therefore play further forward.
Carl McHugh
We have a lot of players who can play in central midfield and it's disrespectful to them to say they're not adequate replacements for Carl. Didn't like the comments in the Herald recently.
Press reporting
(Wotton) We have had a good start to the season. Any team that can put a 5 game run together must be doing well.
Scoring from set pieces
(Wotton) tight games so set plays are important and delivery is very important. We are a tall and powerful side but it's about movement and attacking the ball.
Loan System
DA likes the new system. Need to get your recruitment right. Positive for youth development. Old system helped rich clubs and those with "mates" at bigger clubs.
Youth Development
The team's ambition sets your youth development. We want Argyle promoted and therefore our ambition is to do that. Other clubs may want to bring on players to sell them but they don't have the ambition for their club that we do.
James Brent
He's done very well for this club and has very ambitious for the future of the club.
Harpers Park
Should be ready in 3-4 weeks. Training ay Marjons in the meantime but want to get back as soon as we can. One of the worst training facilities for a club of our size but drainage is first part of that process.
Pre-season
Very difficult process caused by playoffs and promotion uncertainty. We had a database if players to bring into the squad. Able to get many of the first choices in but some targets missed. Process starts in December but can't be finalised until the end of the season.
Technical area at Carlisle
Yes the area was smaller but it was probably legal. Not noticeably so.
Penalties
(Wotton) Confidence in many players to take a penalty if we get one.
One year contracts
Players that left were on longer contracts generally. New contracts are a mix of lengths. Not prepared to discuss in a public meeting.
Public Face
Players socialising at meetings such as this are good for the players and the fans.
Not everything and questions generalised so as to get the gist of the answers rather than the questions. Apologies to questioners if I haven't captured everything. No doubt someone will add to this. |

| Adams is clearly going the direct route. How else do you explain the shortening and narrowing of the pitch. Argyle are now a big team with powerful players. This crap about playing out from the back is bullshit. As for the "we played with three upfront" last season. Again, bullshit. Why are managers afraid to admit they prefer the aerial route. |
