| So I think it's time to reveal who the three backers are that enabled Ian Newell to become the owner of Pasoti:
CHRIS WEBB PETER JONES JAMES BRENT
There are members of this forum who can verify this to be legit, obviously revealing who I am will mean I am no longer privvy to snippets of info from within PAFC and PASOTI towers. Rest assured this is genuine. If only Mr Newell knew who I was, he's got a spy in his camp......L O F'in L |

| Don't believe it, why would Nool need backing from them? For starters Jones is the only one with any money and the site only cost a grand, or so I heard. |

Why would Nool need backing from anybody at all? It's not like he needs the money or references to buy Pisspoti. Gadd has known him for ages. No... It's just some bullshit put out there by SFD to make it look like he knows something we don't. At best... He's been fed a line, fell for it, and as always, isn't a big enough man to admit he's wrong and been had. Which is why he will never release the names of the so called backers. They would sue his fat arse for libel. SFD is just bitter and envious that Gadd refused his attempt to buy into the site years ago when he was a mod. |

| So lets get this straight...
Is Gadd still an owner? If so, how many others apart from Gadd? Or are they just 'backers'? And if 'backers' define the term? |

| What's confused me about this is that for some reason, someone has seen fit to give half a story to Franny. Now, it may be that the person who told Franny was also only told half the story too. Either way, in whose interests is it to leak this half-story?
Now I'm sure Franny will be along shortly to say that he "doesn't care if we believe it or not", but if the person who told Franny, or the person who told the person who told Franny, isn't willing to say who they are, it's all a bit half-baked and pointless isn't it?
Or even worse, if the person who told Franny or the person who told the person who told Franny doesn't even KNOW who they are, then it becomes even more pointless.
So what are the Mods thoughts on the originator of this thread? He obviously isn't your common or garden proxy poster cos that ain't allowed. Any chance of enlightening us plebs? |

| I'm not really interested who owns what. And a guest post doesn't help. Probably Dane the Wizboy.
What I was interested in though was how that Argyle forum slowly decayed over the years, and came under the influence of the biggest internet troll and control freak in the city. Those of us that used it could see it slowly change over many years. Sir Frank called it Pasotification, I see it is purely as an unfortunate forum that lost out to one goon with a control problem. Let's not forget he was leaving the internet, he was coming back, he was leaving again. That alone would suggest that when he became some sort of controller of the forum, he was probably advised to do so, if he wanted to be useful. I see the Pasoti thing as just another example of many, many internet forums and review sites that have been "taken over" by the very companies and industries, that the forums were set up innocently to discuss. I have left 2 forums elsewhere that deal with photography and food issues. They were infiltrated and became POIntless. All such portals have become advertising agencies. Let alone the plethora of paid employees signing up to the few independent forums left, spreading their company lies and deceit. Monsanto are an outrageous example, appearing anywhere ordinary people congregate online to discuss food issues. The golden internet age is over already, unless you know what you're doing. That's what happens when off the wall becomes Main Street. Newell is so definitely Main street, and so are the present club owners. God, they're boring. Adams make me smile though. he's got a streak I recognise. |

I asked the person who told me about the three backers who they were at which point they looked very sheepish, realised they had let something slip they shouldn't have and clammed up. Consider that person to someone very, very close to Ian Newell. It could hardly be more certain to be accurate; I'm struggling to think how it could be anyway but as you so rightly say SFD (to adopt the third person so as not to need to rewrite the quote amd to leave the "we" as posted) "doesn't care if we believe it or not". Whether you do don't it remains true. I can add no more because that was all I was told - consider that to be fact and everything else speculation. |

You gotta be joking! Surely you're not advocating that just because you've been told something that it is true? Don't tell me... You're Moses. ...and you still haven't answered what a 'backer' is and why Newell would even need one, either financially or advocate wise? Go on say it... "You don't know". Talk about an utter bullshit story. You've been had. And failed the test of any worthy newsbreaker - check the truth of the story with another source. If you can't do it. Don't print. You should be ashamed of yourself at passing around pub gossip as some sort of respectable scoop.

| I still don't understand why anybody would want to fork out a four figure sum to "own" a league two/one message board.
Is it pure desperation to "be somebody"? |
