WATCHING Torquay United at Plainmoor next season will be cheaper than it was five years ago, after the club announced price-cuts AND a new £200 'Early Bird' season-ticket.
The Gulls' proposed takeover deal may still be waiting for the final signatures, but they have sent out a strong 'Thanks - And Keep On Coming' message to supporters.
And it seems certain that the new owners, the Wiltshire-based Gaming International group, will have had a say in drawing up the 2016-2017 admission prices.
At the top of the list of attractive offers is an 'Early Bird' £200 season-ticket, open to Adults, Over-65s and Students anywhere in the ground, and £50 for Under-18s.
It is the equivalent of watching a game for £8.70 for an adult and is available until May 31.
There is also an Early-Bird Family Season Ticket (Family Stand only) at £400 for two adults and two children.
Match-day prices are also being reduced by a £1, with a seat (adult) in the Bristow's Bench grandstand down to £19 and a place on the Popular Side terrace at £15.
A United statement said that the directors wanted to show 'their appreciation to the supporters for their patience and amazing support during this last season'.
Season-Ticket prices: - Early Bird (to May 31) - Adults & Concessions £200/Under-18s £50; Family Ticket - £400.
From June 1: Bristow's Bench - Adult £342/Concessions £270/Under-18s £126; Family Stand - Adult £306/Concession £252/Under-18 £126/Family £720; Popular Side - Adult £270/Concession £216/Under-18 £126.
Match-Day prices: Bristow's Bench - Adult £19/Concessions £15/ Under-18 £7; Family Stand - £17/£14/£7/Family £40; Popular Side - £15/£12/££7.
All Under-7s go free with an adult at any time.

| that is cheap compared to us and a most teams in there league. Good on torquay for pricing tickets at a sensible level. £140 saving in bristows bench if you take up the early bird deal

| Most teams set there yearly budget on how many season tickets they sell so this could be a winner for them in terms of cash in the bank before the season starts.
its a shame brent doesnt do the same. |

| Austere bespectacled corporate Victorian toll gate Brentism has taken over the asylum. Like watching paint dry. Maybe he's trying to atone for his 50 billion dollar Citi woopsie. Must have been a parallel universe. |

| Me and a mate have planned a trip up there next season, train from gunny to Muff then onwards up the line. Train doesn't go to Torquay though does it? Where's the nearest station, Newton Abbot? Must be doable without 14 hours of travel is the consensus. |

| Just checked and you can get the train from Totnes on the riviera line to Paignton, thought they'd closed all the branch lines? Might leave it a year and wait til they play Argyle. |

The DRF will also be paying a visit to Torquay early next season by train from Lostwithiel. I believe we have to change trains at Newton Abbot for onward travel to Torquay on the Paignton branch line. Stations at both Torquay and Torre. 2 hours travel from Losty. Should make for a good day out. |

See post above, thought it was Totters but you could be right, it is doable though and much better than having a named driver with a long face looking at his watch whilst we get sozzled. Day out innit. |

| Go to Newton abbot and change for Paignton branch line. Torre is probably closer neither really handy for ground. It's a shit to get to it really is, but it's quite a smart ground |

| The Union Pub near the ground is run by a Gas supporter (top bloke). Best to get a taxi from either Torre or Torquay. The Pickwick in the centre of Torquay is a great proper pub .

Oldest gaff in Torquay? Rember hole in wall in Yeovil. Right shithole, second only to sherries in Barnstaple. Wonder if that's still there |
