Derry City are reported to be interested in signing Plymouth Argyle striker Rory Patterson.

Patterson, 27, is currently on loan at Irish League side Linfield but is reported to favour a move to Derry as it is closer to his home in Strabane.

Speaking to the Sunday Journal yesterday afternoon Derry City boss Declan Devine revealed that he was keeping tabs on players in Ireland, England, Scotland and “further a field”.

“I have people watching players all over Ireland and England and further a field.

“We have lost a lot of high quality players in the off season and it’s up to us to replace them.

“There are a few players I am looking at but I don’t want to go into the details until any deal is signed, sealed and delivered.”

Yup. I didn't realise that Damien Johnson was too until the other day. Anyone else?

Of course we don't know how much of their wages we're paying and how much is being taken care of by the club they're loaned to.

Just one of a number of desperate signings made that had nil influence. Hopefully Derry will take him asap.

Linfield couldn't afford him.....so we're paying a big chunk of his wages.......what a bonus if we could sell him.........even if it's for peanuts.........it would free up some of the wage bill.........for us to bring in another player.
