Accrington Stanley v Plymouth Argyle
Man in the middle Mark Heywood Games: 19 YELLOWS 59 REDS 3
Assisted by Darren Strain and Paul Thompson
Fourth Official Joseph Johnson
Argyle news
The trio of Peter Hartley, Carl McHugh and Oscar Threlkeld all have a chance of being fit for this away game against Accrington Stanley on Saturday, according to manager Derek Adams. Now with the new player Jordan Houghton the team for this weekend looks a little healthier and may be another.
Accrington Stanley news#
This follows media coverage after the game which suggested Rommy Boco was unable to be involved in the match. “Just to clarify the situation,” said Coleman. “There was an agreement in place for Rommy not to play against Portsmouth if he joined Accrington on loan or his contract was terminated to enable Accrington exclusively to sign him. As neither of these scenarios occurred then no agreement was in place.
“We can categorically state that no agreement with Rommy was in place prior to him leaving Fratton Park. Rommy had not asked to leave Portsmouth. The termination of his contract was done in the interests of Portsmouth and not Accrington Stanley. Jimmy Bell admitted the Reds are still hurting from the Portsmouth loss – but he hopes they can take it out on Saturday’s opponents Plymouth. Stanley lost 3-1 to fellow promotion-chasers Pompey on Tuesday and they need to bounce back against the third placed Pilgrims if they are going to continue their challenge for a top three spot. And when you look back to our performance at Home Park earlier in the season, even though we lost, it was our best performance of the season by a country mile.
TEAM NEWS: Terry Gornell, Dean Winnard & Adam Buxton are all out injured/ill with Josh Windass another week away

| That Portsmouth win certainly changes things. It now looks as if they and Rovers are the real threat, given momentum and other issues. Another loss at Stanley, while those two win, will really stir things up. Argyle really really need a good confident performance and a result. Shorely, they can't all but lose such a points advantage in such a short time. I shall be pootling around the delightful third world West Penwith coastal path on Saturday, so a Sparks/Davey/Errington/Domnul Fasole free afternoon. I will have to log into here. Les is often on the mark. |

BRENT OUT 1. I'm glad you weren't in the war (1, or the sequel) 2. I'm glad I wasn't in the war, next to you (especially version 1, in the trenches) |

BRENT OUT 1. I'm glad you weren't in the war (1, or the sequel) 2. I'm glad I wasn't in the war, next to you (especially version 1, in the trenches) Recent form points to a defeat. Nothing irritates me more than baseless optimism and positivity. This team is not good enough. Anyone can see that. Anyway, even a draw (unlikely) won't be good enough as Pompey and Bristol Rovers are certain to win. Season is over. |

| Ambitious owner Andy Holt has hailed a new era at Accrington Stanley after the club put forward plans for a multi-million redevelopment of the Wham Stadium. Mr Holt has been in talks with Hyndburn Council since he took over the League Two club in October last year about securing a new lease on the ground.
