| Argyle fans get the chance to go on tour with the Argyle first team squad to Holland with the possibility of seeing Argyle play a top Dutch side. For £995 there are some exclusive offers for Argyle fans- limited to 16 spaces for the trip. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Think my cousins stag do to Amsterdam was £150 for 3 nights and flights (from Bristol). Granted the Hotel was a shit-hole, but staying in Holland is quite cheap and everywhere seems to be commutable by train.

| Eurostar to Amsterdam for £50 each way.
Getting to Eurostar from Plymouth? Probably at least £100!
So there's £300 there and back by train.
Plymouth to Amsterdam by car about 550 miles. 1100 miles there and back. 40 mpg @ £1/litre = approx £60 for fuel. Eurotunnel £23 each way. 4 in a car there and back for £25 or so each.
I think you can fly to Amsterdam from Exeter. No idea how much that costs.

16 x £995 = £15,920. I'd imagine that a reasonable group package for, say 50 people to the Netherlands could be put together for that sort of bunce. |

| Flights, transfers + 5 nights b&b could probably be put together for around £300-350.
I don't think it's any secret that the 16 who pay a grand will be heavily subsidising the trip for the whole tour party. Official club packages have always been the same. Even Argyle would admit that.
I suppose it depends just how far up the Aviva-scale you are, whether you are willing to stump up the extra £6-700 to breathe the same room oxygen as your green heroes.
As it goes, I'm a bit miffed that I'm gonna be busy around then, because that would be a great excuse for two or three days in Amsterdam. Hell, we might even have thought about taking in a game! |
