So this guy who has been around the first team squad for awhile yet never really stepped up to show the kind of ability that so many raved about in the past is out of contract again in June.

With Boateng not coming here and with us being very short in central midfield area as a result, Could this now present a wildcard opportunity/ A last chance saloon if you will for him to finally step up, grab the brass ring and do a job there as backup to Simpson and Threlkeld? perhaps this opportunity should he take it and does well be enough to earn a contract for next year and perhaps give his career a kick start?

Shezza once saw something in him as a midfielder and to be fair he is too lightweight to be a striker, not to mention is behind Reid, Brunt, Jervis, Nardiello and Rooney in the pecking order. So, it would make sense for him i feel to go back to the midfield idea for one last shot at a career here see if he can do a job finally.
while i don't think he will do the boateng job in the midfield as good as he did of course, he might be a plausible cover option in the squad for that area which might turn out to be a gem or it could fall flat on its face but its worth a shot for now given the low numbers.

Personally, even if del bhey thinks of this and does it or not i would just like to see him finally show some determination to play football for Argyle put in the work to do that and not just be happy for a cameo 5 minute appearance, live off his age and reputation from some fans or be happy to sit on the bench as he seems to be imo.

Fair points well made, has to be an option, if only as cover.

I do think that when he's had the chances this season he's done better in his cameos and made a more noticeable impression than before- but ultimately I think we've outgrown him now and his impact has come too little too late.

I still think he can have a decent lower league career if he gets his attitude in the right shape though.

Sure he'd be released if we didn't already have nearly a full squad of loans.
