The Guardian is reporting that Alan Rickman has passed away, aged 69.

One of this country's finest actors, and Hollywood's go-to guy if a sinister English villain was required. Such a loss.

Very Sad!

RIP Alan Rickman.

I hope 2016 isn't going to be a year that we remember for the people we lose!

I doubt it will be different to any other year. Death is terminal for all of us, and relentless, year in, year out.
I liked Alan Rickman and his style of acting. Acting methods change with the generations, just like singing voices. These days the broken warble is all the singing rage, especially in adverts. Acting wise, Rickman was a great example of the 80s realism school mixed with a touch of camp. Will be missed.
