Wouldn't surprise me if we go back in again in the next couple of years. Islamic State are getting a foothold in many parts of Afganistan, and the fear is that they'll pretty much amalgamate with the Taliban and get their hands on a chunk of the multi-billion pound opium trade.

i gave it 2 years before the us/uk go back due to how weak the afghan army are... it seems they are going to do that alot sooner.

Iraq is still a mess even with Islamic State adding to it

I think it's time we had a serious word with ourselves regarding our foreign policy and military interventions, our meddling in the middle east/north africa since the 1st gulf war doesn't seem to have worked and may even have made some situations worse. Add to that the waste of lives, military and civilian and the hundreds of billions of pounds frittered away, for what?

I know there is a counter argument that if we just stood back and minded our own business things could be even worse but I'm not so sure anymore, do these people really want our version of peace and democracy force fed to them, I'd say the majority don't.

What pisses me off is the lack of Arab intervention from countries like Saudi, Oman, Emirates etc. WTF is it always a western intervention

A pointless waste of over 450 killed and maybe thousands injured, score them up to Blair for starting it, Brown for ignoring it and Cameron for taking so long to get us out and now sending people back in.

Afghanistan and Pakistan are two inherently corrupt shiite holes, they need to be isolated, no one out, no one in, no contact at all................not happening but it is the only way, these people kill each other for sport in the name of some paedophile who took a nine year old wife and screwed her mercilessly, why would we want contact with such people?

Because Pakistan has a population of 182.1 million at the last count and they are all human beings, they are not "such people".

No one in, no one out. This is a country 4 times the size of the UK, this is not Jesters.

Let's forget the fact that we have no right to police another country's border let's look practically. A quick internet search tells me Pakistan has 5,000 KM of border how exactly do you police no one in, no one out?
