| Just had a peek for the likely weather up until the Christmas holiday, and it refuses to drop down below roughly 10 degrees at night ! I've had the wood burner on one night, and have still got chilli plants growing in the garden, with it's fruit still ripening. Blackcurrant bushes are budding. Only one night did we have the temperature drop enough to give a frost, and likely to continue. Gotta be the warmest Autumn and early winter on record. It's mad. Maybe it has caused the algae on the Home Park pitch, as it can't be anything to do with the maintenance. Everything about the club is top notch. Jimmy may be only on the case 4 hours a week, but when he's there, boy, is he diligent. |

| Pitch is in a terrible state for the good weather we have had, grass grows until temp drops below 13 °

| Hardly any difference between last 'summer' and this winter so far. 14 C and pissing down could be any season in Plymouth. |

Not just in this Country as well. Where I spend a lot of time November 1st thro April 30th you'd hardly see a cloud let alone rain. Now whilst temps are the same, rain and wind are just as likely as cloudless skies |

| I can't ever remember having a period of time with such consistently excessive wind and rain. Nov/Dec has just been relentless, and it ain't looking like quieting down for a while yet. I played golf the other day and while it was obviously soggy, the lush thickness of the grass with the constant double figure temperatures we've had, was amazing for December. |

| The climate is changing, we are going from a temperate oceanic seasonal weather pattern of yore to a largely homogenised wet and windy pattern, warmer in "summer" and colder in "winter"
We can expect more spikes of extreme weather to liven it up. _______________________________________ COYG!

| The climate has changed throughout Earths' history, whether the current fluctuations are as a result of human activity is up for debate. There is no definitive answer as of yet although the 'yes to human activity camp' outnumbers the 'no camp' amongst the scientific community, of course, that doesn't make them right and in some cases could be as a result of the bandwagon effect.
Climate change is of course more noticeable nowadays with vastly and ever improving technology along with the greater impact it has on a burgeoning World population. 100 years ago floods or droughts would have gone largely unnoticed outside of our own country, now weather satelites coupled with worldwide communication enables the smallest of fluctuations to be recorded and reported. |

| El niño, look back to the last big event, 1998 and you will see similar weather based phenomenon including some of he biggest waves ever surfed. Pacific current reversal more or less but has a huge effect on the whole planet. I have trouble taking any "theories" seriously not knowing who has funded them. |

| Probably the loudest ever hail storm in my recollection in Plymouth just now. The cat bashed through the cat flap from the garden, like a frightened rabbit, a good 20 seconds before it arrived. Like a blue jay fleeing the forest. We could hear it roaring up the valley while there was still a blue sky above. It could have been anything. That'll be the end of my broad beans. |

| Same in Devonport LB. My missus heard it about 10 secs before it hit. Tried to get the cats in but they crapped themselves and ran. It set off several car alarms in the street.
Herald are reporting on FB that it turned several major roads into ice rinks. |

| Well, another year and where are the sou' westerlys ? What was the prevailing wind down here is just a memory. This spring, just as the last two, the wind has been more from the North and the East than it has from the sou'west, with the next 10 days showing no change. Weird. Houses used to sing in the northerlies for obvious reasons. Not any more. Folks will have to think about moving hedges. Or better still, get Benny Two hedges in. He'll sort it out. |

As a surfer and fisherman I pay keen attention to the wind, another wierd thing is the way it swings from east to north to west and back again through the day and quite hard with it. As a small boat owner I've really suffered last year, hardly get out at all, plenty of fives and sixes even on nice sunny days. Just got back from a couple of days in the south hams and the wind is brisk to say the least. Need a bigger boat. |
