Passes away at the age of 40.

One of Rugby Union's all time greats. Tragic to be taken so young.

Very sad news and an awesome player. His performance in the semi final against England in 95 was unforgettable.

Has died aged only 40, had some type of kidney disease which required transplants and the last one was rejected by his body. Has recently been doing work in England on the Rugby WC.

I've never been a huge rugby fan, but remember him flattening England players with his pace and strength in the World Cups in the 90s.

I hear Rory Underwood has decided to come out of retirement.

Watched that semi in a hotel room in Cherbourg, on the way back from le mans with a dozen or so mates from my rugby club, there wasn't a bar in the town that had it on so I took a room and we all crowded in.

What a let down, Lomu scored 4 tries and basically strolled all over us, it looked like the end of rugby as we knew it and were it not for illness he might well have dominated the game for a decade or more.

Still a great player of course and by all accounts a lovely man.

RIP Jonah, if there is a heaven I guess Jerry Collins and Lomu would anchor a pretty decent team.

It was, along with Mike Catt, Rory actually got a couple of tries that day in Cape Town.
