Quite agree the poppy police can sod off at the end of the day.

But she did surrender to the poppy bullies. She's a Tele G girl at heart.
Anyway, here we go again, it's the PC season. HDR rendered photos of rather camply dressed gentlemen. Did/do beef eaters really look like that ?

I liked the "swathes" of poppies and other animals adorning North Cross roundabout this year. Credit to the PCC department concerned.  And nice to see the lovely meadow flowers without political baggage and expensive regular preening of set displays. well done. I'll be interested in seeing if the flowers have seeded themselves next Summer without re cultivating. Poppies aren't always perennial.

i hear there is a small display by a peace campaign handing out white poppies on sunday during the service up there.

Personal choice! Can't quite agree with the white poppy demo though. The people at the remembrance parade are there by choice. Most are probably there because they have some link to people who have died in conflict. Could be their spouse, children, father .... and the whites need to understand its a very personal moment that does not need interruption from anyone. If the ''whites'' want to hold a white poppy service then fine but they don't have to interfere with the 'reds'.

Havent seen any metal poppy badges this year yet and no poppy sellers in shops either

The poppy police who will bombard abuse at anyone not wearing a poppy even though they forget wearing one and donating is optional and always has been since it was created are the same ones who wouldn't be interested in putting a donation in an unknown to them solider on the street corners hand come november 12th.
