| Passed away aged 72. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]One of the few stars of a declining Argyle set up in my early years of support, made the odd howler but also pulled off some pretty spectacular saves. Played quite a few games for Man Utd and Republic of Ireland, over the years Argyle have been fairly well represented in the goalkeeping department and he was no exception. RIP Pat |

| Yes, very sad indeed. He was my first goalkeeping hero in conscious terms, even above Gordon Banks. He was like a cat, very similar to LarryO in build and movement, but a far better kicker of the ball. He could and did kick for Ireland. Also had the same weakness at not quite going down at the right time in the way the way the great Pat Jennings was a master of at the time. I miss watching you Pat. |

RIP pilgrim. David Friio was too, I think. Before changing his name to Jethro. (RIP Pat) |

| Anyone else remember singing 'Aye aye aye aye, Pat Dunne is better than Yashin. Mike Bickle is better than Eusebio And City [etc] are in for a thrashin ! Or was that just me and my gay mates in the Demport in the 60's |

| I remember that when a defender failed, he would shoulder arms and let it in. |

| Yes, I liked that one too. That's when football fans actually sung. With the advent of the bovver boy skin thing, it all got a bit grunt and chant, which it still is to this day. |

| My memory may be deceiving me, but on one of the few times Argo were on Match of the Day back then, against Luton at Kenilworth Road I think, Pat made a number of spectacular saves and was quite rightly hailed by the commentator as a terrific keeper.
I remember the following day us young lads were in the park playing football and we all wanted to be in Pat Dunne in goal.
RIP |
