The Proms Empty
PostSubject: The Proms   The Proms EmptyFri Aug 14, 2015 8:28 pm

Well, am just watching tonight's prom, Rhapsody in Blue, a boring piece, and the piano player is probably the biggest gonk I've ever seen. Last year's young musician apparently. Bad glasses. Calm down.
It's a good job he can play the piano, as that famous virgin quote by Peter Crouch comes to mind.
The conductor composer tonight, however, will be screwing constantly, even if he becomes a tramp. Such is life. He "got into music, to meet girls" "A wonderful man" said the BBC presenter Razz It could be 1970
Anybody catch the 6 Music prom last week ?

Rhapsody in Blue might be my favourite piece of music of all time. I played the piano part with an orchestra once - probably the best night of my life.

Not a massive fan of the proms though. After I left college I played viola for the BBC Symphony Orchestra as a freelancer for a couple of years, and I did the Last Night one year. All the flag-waving nonsense totally passed me by; I was sharing a desk (i.e. a music stand) with a massive Hartlepool fan, and both of us were pissed off that we'd missed a perfectly good afternoon of football because we'd had to sit through a day of rehearsals.
