Hope its nothing too serious this squad really cant afford many long term injuries being as small as it is. |

| Memorable games vs Gillingham?
Friio's late double to win 2-1 under Big fat Bob.
Darren Byfield getting racially abused (or suggestions of it at least?)?
That horrible team they had under Tone Pulis back in the 90s.

Err... Went there once and it looked as if the fog may cause the game to be off but it cleared about 15 minutes before KO. Shame really because they turned us over 4-1,think Dungey was in goal, Akinbiyi tore us a new one. And Gillingham was an absolute shit hole. |

| I make that 19 out of the last 22 years that we've been knocked out in the first round of the League cup. Is there a team with a worse league cup record than us? <Edit> Actually make that 20 out of 23 - the reference is wiki (below) but they don't have last season listed (where we lost to Orient on penalties) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

Just looked it up - 1997. Feckin' hell - so long ago, Barlow was still playing. Dungey in goal. Jesus. Happily, saw us beat Brighton there 2 seasons later. Amazing to see where they are now versus having to play home games at Priestfield. Gillingham is a horror show. Flew solo there once after a very heavy night out, only to witness a dire 1-0 defeat sat on the golf stand. Decided to go for a pint afterwards then realised I was sat in a pub, on my own, in the greyest town in England. Beat a hasty retreat to the Smoke and civilisation. As for tonight....knickers. Sounded like we'd nicked it at 1's. Another cup run slides away. Geddon Del, sort 'um out fer Saddurdehy bhey |

| That was bloody cruel.
Tanner's goal was superb.
Possible foul in the build up to their equaliser and the ball fell to their best player who scored.
All asleep for the 2nd.
We had all the chances. They never looked like scoring until they did.
Bummer. |

Geddon Del, sort 'um out fer Saddurdehy bhey 'Tis indeed a bit scary-18 years ago, people like Greensam and Paven were probably either twinkles in their daddy's eyes or occupying the pram section at Priestfield. As for Pie face.......who knows, just a recipe at that stage probably. Memories are trickling back slowly of that game, i do believe it may have been one of Warnock's last before he got the push, having been at loggerheads with Dan for months. Haven't been back there since and have no particular wish to go there ever again. |

| I saw both games v. Pulis's Gilllingham in the Warnock season. We lost 1-0 up there on a freezing cold Boxing Day. Gary Clayton punched a goalbound shot over the bar, was sent off and they scored from the penalty.
We won 1-0 at Home park with Martin Barlow scoring a Van Bastenesque volley from out wide.
The two most brutal games of football I have ever seen. They were more akin to gladiatorial combat than the beautiful game. |
