How close is that top four then, two tough games to come now. I will give serious thought for the Oxford United and Luton Town predictions and careful predictions too.
I have got to try and pip MouldyGoat to second spot what do the numbers in the brackets mean? |

I have got to try and pip MouldyGoat to second spot what do the numbers in the brackets mean? Correct scores that have been predicted. It is basiically to do with league placings for people on the same points. There was a slight moan last season when I said the tables would be done in alphabetical order if people had the same points. Someone suggested that i put in brackets the number of correct scores that people had predicted and that would make it fairer. At the moment I am in third positon on 30 points and Angry is in fourth position on 30 points. I am above him as I have one correct score prediction. Had I not had that correct score prediction then i would be in fourth position. If at the end of Phase One you have the top four people all on the same points, the correct scores in brackets then come into play. Say Seadog, MouldyGoat, Myself and Angry all finished on 33 points, the two with the most correct scores would go through to the final. EXAMPLEPhase One Table1) SEADOG. 33 (2) 2) VILLAGEGREEN. 33 (2) 3) ANGRY 33 (1) 4) MOULDYGOAT 33 (1) Nothing gets carried over when Phase Two starts, everyone starts fom scratch again. The two Phase One winners can either carry on playing or sit it out until the final. Should the two winners wish to continue and happened to come top of the table at the end of Phase Two, then the two below them will go to the final, the Same applies to Phase Three. EXAMPLEPhase Two Table1) VILLAGEGREEN 40 (4) 2) SEADOG 36 (3) 3) PEPSIPETE 34 (3) 4) INNOCENTEGBUNIKE 32 (2) PepsiPete and InnocentEgbunike go on to the final. Like last season, there will be an ongoing league table running along side the Phase Two league table and the Phase Three league table, but that is just for fun only. In a nutshell, the current Phase One league table becomes ongoing until the end of the 2015-2016 season. You will see what I mean from October 31st. I decided to do this competition in three phases, with six people fighting it out in the grand final (all the Play-Off Semi-Finals and the Play-Off Finals from the Championship, League One, League Two and the National League]. I thought it better to do it that way as it gives everyone a chance. I hope that clears it all up for you.

McCormick got int he way of my prediction for Accrington to score two mind. You said Accrington would win 2-1, so you get nothing. You only get the points for naming a goal scorer if you predict a correct score or correct result. Your comment has been noted though and perhaps it can be looked at much later. Last season I threw some bonus points in during selective games in Phase Three, so perhaps I could do the same again only this time on the lines of what you have said. I will considering the idea when the time comes.

If you name a correct score, you will receive 3 points. If you name a correct result, you will receive 2 points. If you name a goal scorer, you will receive 1 point. Just to clarify, you only get points for naming a goal scorer if you have predicted a correct score or correct result. I should have made that clear on the original post above. |

But could you explain the difference between a correct score and a correct result? The correct score is the actual score of the game, if you say Argyle will beat Oxford 3-0 (and they do), then you get three points for that, plus a point for each goal scorer you may have named. And vice versa. The correct result is just that. If you predicted Oxford would win 2-1, but the actual score was 3-1, then you get two points for the correct result, plus a point for the goal scorer had you named him. And vice versa. |
