Interesting read looks like the reluctant one will have invest more in perm signings if this happens!

Too right they have been the word Emergency should mean just that emergency not a cheap alternative to actually signing players.

Two more days before this last loan date passes. Will we sign anybody? or the same excuse no one is willing to move this far west.

I would limit the number of loans per season to three or four with a minimum of three months and no recall.... this would prevent shit owners of football clubs abusing the system by filling their squads with short tems loans!

I agree, SS68. I think that there should be more clarity over deadlines as well; if there's a transfer window system then it should be clear, with no further opening of loans windows, except for emergencies. Although signing free agents (on proper contracts) should be allowed at virtually any time throughout the year.

Emergency Loans requests should be put to a Panel in my opinion. Clubs should make a request to the league for an Emergency Loan, the panel would look at the squad depth as it stands at that moment in time and then make a published decision by vote as to whether or not a team is permitted to sign an Emergency Loan.

This would allow teams to sign say a goalkeeper when both main and backup are injured, but again also prevent p*$$ taking by signing large amounts across the season.

It would also encourage teams to invest and use Youth / Reserve players as a backup to their first teams, which will benefit all clubs in the long term.

The Transfer window should stay as 2 windows, Loan windows should end one week after transfer window and yes Free Agents on contracts should be allowed at anytime to encourage long-term injured players that are recovering etc.... to be signed.

there is a limit on long term/season long loans standing at 4. I believe there should be a cap for short term/emergency loans something like 3-4 max.
