| I'm of an age group that will forever think that a bucket of snot would be too good for them but...
Danny Ings at Burnley.
Far too good for them - without Ings they wouldn't even be in the PL.
He's a fantastic player. |

| Swansea? Sigurddson. Another wonderful footballer.
What happened to that Diarra (sp?) that Pompey sold to Real Madrid? I think he's the best player I have ever seen in the flesh but he's been off my radar since he went to Real. |

| I don't accept the premise, every club has a best player, Burnley are a Premier League club so you would expect them to have a couple of good players who stand out, they have Ings, Vokes, Boyd and Barnes, how much did you get for him again? They are all decent and playing in the Premier League which according to Stan"woman beater"Colliedog is the best league in the world.
I suspect there is a little of the Billy Big Bollox Syndrome here, I think you don't see Burnley as a bigger club than the Muff, well word up divs, Burnley are a proper club with a proper history while you are just a 4th division club which seems to be on the slide. |

| Or even Grimes at Exeter as their recent run of results shows. Amazing how despite Exeter being such a professional outfit have still spent much of their history in the 4th division and have ever been above the 3rd |

| When Charlie Austin was at Swindon, my Swindon fan housemate at the time advised me to put money on him playing for England one day...
I didn't listen. |

I didn't listen. To be fair I'm not sure Austin is good enough for England anyway, you might be alright on that one. |

| He'll have an England cap before the season is out. Who else have we got, Rooney, Kane and Carroll? |

Welbeck, Berahino and Sturridge? All 6 are better than Austin. |

| Jason Koumas stood out a mile playing for Tranmere when he was in his early days. Never quite fulfilled his potential did he? |

This sort of stand out player comparison will always apply to players who started out at lesser teams. One that sticks in my memory is a home game against Crewe where they passed us to death and a young Dean Ashton was literally taking the piss with the ball. |

All 6 are better than Austin. Sturridge is injured, and Berahino is not a better CF than Austin. More potential perhaps, but not the better striker yet. Austin has 13 league goals this season, Welbeck has 4. Who is the form player there? |

| You have to admire Le Tissier for staying at Southampton. He could have easily fitted into an Arsenal, Man U, Spurs or Liverpool side and won honours with them. _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! Or you could look at it that he lacked real ambition and was happy playing well within his comfort zone at S'ton. A bit like Steve Bull at Wolves. |

Gerrard at Liverpool too, all those seasons he was a world renowned centre midfielder playing in a side finishing 5th - 9th. All the other brilliant players Liverpool had in that period went on to reach a certain level with dominant teams - Owen to Madrid, Mascherano to Barca, Alonso to Real Madrid, Torres to Chelsea, Arbeloa to Madrid, Suarez to Barca. Their one good season alongside Gerrard at Liverpool was just another season to them - for Gerrard those seasons finishing 2nd were the highlights of a bland domestic career. |

| A bland domestic career that millions of young boys dream of and old men would've given their eye teeth to have achieved. |

Gerrard has won everything there is to win in top flight football with Liverpool except a league winners medal. he let that one slip way last season. i'm not sure he counts imo. |

To be fair he still won 7 trophies all toll. He was unlucky to have been born at a time when virtually all his playing career coincided with 3 great managers (Wenger Mourinho Fergie) producing far better teams at their respective clubs than any Liverpool manager was able to. |
