Whats the point of them i ask

Whats the point of the white horse or the angel of the north or even Christ the redeemer. They are all world famous.

This will not be on that level though so again i ask whats the point in wasting more money doing this when there are countless other areas of Plymouth that needs the councils attention than defacing a patch of grass with chalk giants.

I like the idea of it. Especially if there is an historical link to there having been some up on the Hoe 400 yrs ago.

It was designed to age/mature that way. Personally, on a trip oop north last week, I thought it was quite impressive.........and I doubt very much it'll rust away anytime soon, the metal is two inches thick, but maybe in a 100 years or so.

There used to be a thriving prostitution ring on the hoe 400 years ago doesnt mean it should be re introduced

It's a bit of chalk on the ground. I'm no expert, but I'd have thought re-chalking the chalky bits every once in a while shouldnt be beyond the City purse.

Speaking as a geologist I'd really love to hear where the "chalk" is located because for sure there's none underneath Plymouth!
