| FFS. Absolute BS.
It's not like we have a good track record of keeping hold of decent players when a wad of cash is waved under the snouts of PAFC, is it!! |

| It's hard to imagine that a club that had to go begging for cash to a hated ex-director, that can't afford £25k to re-open the far Post Club, that can't afford £900 for a video camera and won't stump up to replace creakingly inefficient IT gear for the staff is in any position to turn down any offer for anybody at all.
Even thinking of engaging with the "Reuben's not for sale" debate only serves to further highlight his achievements so far and make other clubs wonder about making a cheeky little bid, like the 25k Holloway offered for BWP (was it him or someone else?) a while back, just to see. |

| If anything, bringing it up in the local rag is only going to alert clubs to the fact Argo will "probably" sell |

"Everyone has their price." (Actually I applaud Starnes for being man enough to admit it and am in no way critical of him for saying so. This is stark realism, common sense and everybody knows it to be true anyway even if it is never said so why deny it or say something else?) |

Probably so. JS would not be too chuffed if RR was to be sold and it would mean he would have to seek a replacement, no easy task. |

Reminds me of that piece on the Official Site (pafc.co.uk, not Pasoti.co.uk in case u were wondering) where another player was interviewed and asked for his thoughts on Rueben possibly being sold. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if his name is being circulated, at least verbally anyway. |

| He's off in January then after someone comes in with an offer "too good to turn down". 20p and a new bag of prawns for the cling ons in the directors box. |

| Didn't they say the same less than a week before Hourihane was packing his bags? |

| This is a bit like the 'backing the manager' statement which nearly always results in him going about a week later. If you want to attract offers for players, then come out with stuff like this.
Wonder what a 'stunning offer' is?
This club is giving a very good impression of being absolutely clueless over the last couple of days. |

| Its just part of the council blackmail plot. "We will have to sell Reid unless PCC. ...." etc etc |

| Brent and his dwindling fan club must think Argyle fans are truly simple if they think the non developer wont sell reid... He will go for peanuts like Hourihane and countless others before. |

- The Herald wrote:
- The Pilgrims have rejected an undisclosed five-figure bid from Barnsley for the 23-year-old Irish midfielder.
The South Yorkshire club, who were relegated from the Championship last term, must now decide whether to make an increased offer for Hourihane.
Hourihane has spent three seasons at Argyle after signing from Ipswich Town in July 2011.
He has made a total of 142 appearances for the Pilgrims and scored 16 goals – with 10 of them coming last term.
An Argyle spokesman told Herald Sport: “We have had an offer from Barnsley but we are obviously not looking to sell Conor.
“He’s a central part of our plan to try to make a strong promotion bid next season.
“The offer was just so low it wasn’t worth really discussing it any further.”
Hourihane, a former Republic of Ireland under-21 international, has another 12 months remaining on his contract at Argyle.
While the Pilgrims want to retain his services as they plot a League Two promotion push next term, the reality is that every player has his price.
It could come down to whether Barnsley, whose manager is the experienced Danny Wilson, are ready to stump up that kind of money.
Argyle boss John Sheridan signed central midfielder Lee Cox from League One outfit Swindon Town earlier this summer.
Cox formed a good partnership with Hourihane during a loan spell with the Pilgrims towards the end of the 2012/13 season.
Herald Sport tried to contact Sheridan yesterday but he was unavailable for comment.
Meanwhile, Argyle have been drawn at home to Leyton Orient in the Capital One Cup first round.
The tie will be played on the week commencing August 11 and will see a return to Home Park for former Argyle players Kevin Nugent and Gary Sawyer.
Nugent, 45, is the assistant manager to Russell Slade at Orient, who lost on penalties to Rotherham United in the League One play-off final last season.
Sawyer, the 28-year-old left-back from Bideford in north Devon, recently signed a new one-year contract with the O’s.
He started his career at Argyle and made 98 starts and eight substitute appearances, scoring five goals, before leaving at the end of the 2009/10 season.
Sawyer signed for Bristol Rovers that summer and then moved to Orient two years later.
Orient’s last visit to Home Park was in May 2011 when already relegated Argyle were beaten 4-1 in the final game of their League One campaign.
Obviously after Barnsley were forced to pay so far above and beyond for CH, no club would dare go near us for RR. "When we say we ain't selling, we mean it! Unless you can stretch to about £100k with a few add ons, in which we accept it, here's Reuben's mobile number". |

| Brent is absolutely desparate to sell Reid at the earliest possible opportunity. His replacement will probably be a loanee from some lower half L1 outfit.

JS would not be too chuffed if RR was to be sold and it would mean he would have to seek a replacement, no easy task. And it goes without saying he will get next to nothing of any fee Reid could bring in. Worth mentioning the club sold Hourihane for a very low price so my hopes are not high they would sell Reid for a decent one |
