I'm not at all gutted, getting promoted from skid row is 100x more important than the paint pot.

true but it would have been nice to win some silverware if only to cover one of the 6 empty walls with a mural Wink

Coventry's loss against Worcester was the worst possible result for Argyle but, to rationalise, the league is far more important than this cup or the FA cup and i would much rather beat Pompey than win at Sheffield United [who also had a bit of a shock defeat tonight].Still a bit disappointing though.

Won't suit our style of free flow football

lol!

Wasn't much evidence of that tonight, and don't blame the pitch!

Garbage hoof football from start to finish sadly.

Reid just useless, didn't play like he wanted to be there at all. Didn't pressure, didn't run, didn't exert himself - instead of these things he moaned, gesticulated and shrugged his shoulders in protest at the long passes he evidently was in no mood to be chasing. When our tactic seemed to be - '1. Pass it around neatly 2. Get pressured back towards Nelson or Hartley 3. Boot it down the channel', Reid not being in a trying mood didn't really suit our gameplan. However that said, he forced a strong save from the keeper with about the only decent bit of play we managed in the first half.

Second half Morgan for some returned a cross back across goal from 8 yards out when it seemed just as easy to score. Kellett got into some strong positions - one resulting in cutting inside with a timid finish, the other bursting through, only to approach the near post and overhit a cross so hard it went across the goalline 4 - 6 feet above the crossbar with the keeper off his line. What a blumming waste!  Thumbnsdown

Great chance from a free kick when Thomas teed up a drive from the edge. It was too central when either side of the keeper would have done. Coventry stormed down the other edge of the pitch, with Frank Nouble cutting Nelson and O'Connor (I think) to shreds before fortuitously booting the ball against McCormick and deflecting into the net. The goal had been coming as without McHugh who was subbed off, our defence looked frightened and extremely vulnerable.

Very disappointing game, Coventry were absolutely terrible and Sheridan had no idea how to exploit them. They couldn't pass, they couldn't create chances, they stuck one corner away and then seemingly ran their only big lad at our defence and made us crumble in fear. We had chances to make great attacking opportunities, but it was just so disjointed. You would never have guessed from watching us we were a team in form, the players just looked like they didn't know how to play together at all.

Nelson MOTM for me, Cox had a good game too. Reid very off form. A team performance to forget, not befitting a cup quarter final.

The only saving grace for me was that it only cost £5 for a ticket. Terrible waste of a night
