| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]These creatures are great for restoring rivers, controlling floodplains and creating a more diverse habitat for wildlife. Of course, they're not so great for crops like maize/wheat. I.e. livestock feed. Fook em. Bring beavers back ASAP. I'm gonna buy some off Ebay an let 'em loose by Cadover Bridge. |

Friend of ours daughter came home once full of pride after getting a 'Best Beaver' award. (I kid you not) |

| Good programme on the other day about a guy in the USA who catches naughty beavers that chew peoples prize trees to pieces.Cor blimey, the speed of his trap-doesn't hurt the beaver though,he just takes them to places where they can do a bit of good. All in favour of reintoductions, love to see wolves and bears back in the wild-'twould make them ramblers think twice about going into woods. How about Sabre tooth cats as well or the woolly mammoth? Fook me,wouldn't like to see them dinosaurs back though-just imagine taking your tee shot on the 14th and all of a sudden a velociraptor pokes his head above the hedge and licks his ravenous lips-no thank you.
PS-what about red squirrels as well? |

Nothing but reds here. Quite tame too. Saw a beaver here too. I was fishing and he/she took a dislike to me. Bloody big teeth. I have some photos somewhere. |

Wolves wouldn't pose too much threat to humans, but bears might. Both creatures apparently 'move around' deer as much as they cap populations, meaning forests tend to grow much more successfully, rather than just being chomped to smithereens as soon as you try an plant a coupla trees. |

| There are wolves living near Berlin. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]One wolf (from Italy) made it to the Rhine and was living there quite happily until someone shot it! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| SAVE THE BEAVERS [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]DEFRA are a tinfoil hat organisation which is showing little common sense in this case. You can test for the disease that DEFRA are apparently worried about with a sample of their droppings. Why DEFRA think there is a need to heavy handedly trap and endanger this small colony is beyond me. (actually it isn't beyond me, they are terrible shits). |

Much in the same way the Stag hounds do? Maybe we should re introduce hunting then? |

| Beavers could be returned to the river otter if they haven't got any diseases, according to the Beeb. |
