| The draw for the second round of the JPT takes place this Saturday [08/09/14] and will see Argyle play play one of the other South-West clubs.. Although i fail to understand why Coventry City and Northampton Town are classed as South-West. Bristol City at home would be ideal, as we have not played them for awhile and they would bring a few down...Nice easy win for Argyle on the way to Wembley... I know a few of you hate this competition, but Argyle could make some serious dosh should they go all the way and a day out in the smoke [and at Wembley] would be fun. | I think we should go for it. What's the point of football if not winning things? |

| It's that sort of negative attitude that led to your departure from the farm Chris!
Fingers crossed for an impressive cup run, concentrating on the league has not been our best option in recent seasons. _______________________________________ COYG!

| The only way we would make any kind of money is if we got to Wembley and won it. Your windfall then is looking at a total for the whole comp of around £500k.
Half of receipts for home matches go to the away side and prize money doesn't get above 20k a tie until the area final.
Put it this way: it doesn't touch the sides of the balloon payment, although a Wembley runout would be lovely. |

| I've always thought we should take the JPT seriously. The financial rewards may not amount to much but winning is a good habit to acquire and we could do with our Feel Good Factor getting a bit of a boost. |

| I read that Southampton earned £1 million plus when they won the JPT awhile back. Any unbudgeted income from this competition would be welcome.
For the past couple of seasons I have believed that Argyle can win this, only to be let down when they bow out in the end. However, this season could be different (i hope)..
Come on JS, take us to Wembley please....... |

| If we actually won the thing, it'd more than touch the sides of the balloon payment. And who wouldn't want a Wembley win?
So we play our strongest team in each game then, as far as I can see. |

| Delude, me. - no.
I just want a day visit to Wembley, with Argyle going for a trophy. It has been a long time since that glorious day back in 1996 when Argyle made their first and only visit to the old Wembley. It would make a nice change from the direness of the last few years and a chance to see Argyle have a kick about in the new Wembley.

He certainly did. Got relegated the same year, mind. I thought he won it with Oldham? Did he actually do anything with Oldham then, or just float about in League One? |

| I dont quite see how we can win a competion when there are at least twenty five better teams involved? it will end with another " Plucky Loser" sob story. |

| i struggle to understand why this comp has the reputation it has with lower league clubs! its a winnable tournament with a final at Wembley.
Its not like these big time charlies (ourselves included) are ever going to win the FA Cup or League cup in this lifetime so its as good as it gets and should be treated as such imo.

| At home to Newport county or Swindon, a good chance of us " concentrating on the league" after that. |
