Don't know what you're missing Tgwu. Imho, it's one of Plymouth's last bastion of real ale, spit & sawdust characters, good music, (open mic sessions, ie, bring your own instrument, on a Monday evening - pint, pasty and entrance for a £1) and that olde worldy real pub atmospheres. So much better than these 'bars' that seem to pop-up nowadays, imho. PS: Baseball bats and stab-vests are available on request! |

Fair enough, Tgwu, but may I also add that the Fortescue does a cracking coffee. Quite often when me and wifey pop-down, she will drink coffee and I will drink frothing ale. PS: You also get a free cookie if you have a coffee!! |

Think it used to be a 'man-on-man' type of establishment, once upon a time. |

| Yes, the Fortescue is our top secret ATD bunker. So secret in fact, unless you anally scour ATD, no one would ever know. We are currently in talks with Mc666 to rent an old bomb shelter on his island out in the sound as the new ATD international HQ. |

| If your looking for an ATD HQ......look no further than the fort that's just come on the market with the address....'No1 The Thames'.....it's a Victorian Fort off the coast of Kent near the Isle of Grain.....it's walls are extremely thick and it's very difficult to storm.
One little problem ....needs an awful amount of renovation. |

| Another little problem, its miles away from Home Park. Where ever the HQ is it needs to be within drinking distance of Home Park. |

One of the things that lets Argyle down is the paucity of pre-match pub options. There really isn't that much to choose from and none of it is especially close to the ground. If distance is the prime factor then The Brit is the only option with nothing to challenge it. After that the Cherry Tree and the Hyde Park must be about the same. Next up The Mannamead with The Foretescue, James Street Vaults and the Stoke Village pubs. For anybody with limited mobility they are all a pretty fair walk - even The Brit. If somebody would open up a stonking great bar in the park for supporters to drink in then they'd make a fortune. Does anybody know if there has ever been a plan for such a thing? |

Why hasn't someone thought of this before? As that smelly old seadog says - you truley are a man of vision, ATD's very own Nostradamus. I propose we put this plan to Mr brent, his secretary Jean Luc De-Liar and the porcine one. I wonder the response will be? |

| According to Google Maps (walking distance and time from club shop)
The Britannia - 0.3 miles - 8 mins The Cherry Tree - 0.8 miles - 16 mins Stoke Village - 0.9 miles - 18 mins (I can't think of the name of the closest pub) The Hyde Park - 1.1 miles - 22 mins The JSV - 1.2 miles - 26 mins Raffles - 1.3 miles - 25 mins The Mannamead - 1.3 miles - 27 mins The Fortescue - 1.4 miles - 28 mis
To be honest you might as well go where you like and get a cab to the ground if you don't go to The Brit!
Or a Fan Fest which is closest of all (30 yards - 1 min).

| Personally speaking I'd love someone to buy the end couple of houses opposite the park on the Barn park/Trelawney Roads corner and knock 'em through to create a pub. Peverell is gagging for a boozer and that would be a perfect location for it. Lady Astor has a lot to answer for. |
