According to Shez in Herald interview-
PLYMOUTH Argyle striker Marvin Morgan has made a full recovery from a health scare towards the end of last season.
Morgan had what was described as a ‘mini seizure’ when he collapsed during a training session in April.
He spent four days at Derriford Hospital before he was discharged after a series of tests were conducted on him.
Argyle returned for the start of pre-season training last Wednesday and Morgan, 31, has taken part in all of the sessions so far.
The challenge now for the 6ft 4in striker is to force his way into the first team reckoning.
Morgan faces competition from Reuben Reid, last season’s Argyle player-of-the-year and 21-goal top scorer, Lewis Alessandra, summer signing Deane Smalley and Matt Lecointe.
Pilgrims’ boss John Sheridan said: “As far as I’m concerned, he (Morgan) is fully recovered.
“He has done everything the rest of the lads have done. He has got to carry on working hard and pushing towards a place in the side.”
Morgan signed a two-year contract with Argyle last summer after leaving Shrewsbury Town.
However, he made only 12 starts and 11 substitute appearances during 2013/14, partly because he was sidelined for four months by a shoulder injury.
Morgan’s only goal for the Pilgrims came in a 3-1 away win against Cheltenham Town last August.
Meanwhile, Sheridan confirmed Argyle goalkeeper Luke McCormick had successfully overcome the finger injury which ruled him out of the final three months of last term.
McCormick will be the undisputed first choice ‘keeper this season, with new signing James Bittner as his back up.
Bittner was brought in by Sheridan after Jake Cole was released in May.
Sheridan said: “Luke has done a lot of handling work with (goalkeeping coach) Rhys Wilmot and everything is okay.”
Bittner, 32, had a player/goalkeeping coach role at Salisbury City last season.
He was part of a backroom staff which also included former Argyle striker Warren Feeney, who was the assistant manager.
Sheridan said: “Luke is going to be the number one but James will push him. He has come in and it’s an opportunity for him at a League club.
“I have asked about him and Warren Feeney spoke really highly of him.
“He knows the situation. Luke is going to be the number one, but I think he will be a really good stand-in if anything happens to Luke.”
