An ongoing thread. So far, Van Persie vs Spain. Amazing run, great pass and what a diving header.

I still think Van Persie's was a wonderful goal. It was such a difficult goal to score. Robben's had a bit of fortune - the Van Persie header was pure brilliance.

We have a contender.

Cahill.

The Chile second this evening was a great finish but it's still Van Persie for me. There's not been a real 30 yard screamer yet - the ball sems to fly over too easily.

Great great, superb technique, reminds me of a Jeremy Goss goal vs Leeds from the 90's

Van Percy's goal was a top drawer finish, one of the best headed goals i think i've ever seen.

That Swiss goal - the second - was pretty sweet. Xhaka. I don't have a gif yet - it was scored about a minute ago.

That Wayne Rooney goal for England was just super. Awesome technique. Wonder how much Manchester United pay him per week. Whatever it is it just isn't enough. Love what he does to his hair and eyebrows and forehead too. Looks so fashionable and modern. Just like the rest of the team, great haircuts and choice of colourful boots all round. Well done England!

The second was as sweet a team goal as you could wish to see too!
